03 u have lost ur mind buddy sorry! There is no way Powell gets 2nd in the region or ever gets to play for it they need to have the heads on straight and be ready for a young and getting better with every play they make red devil team. The winner of HHS/PHS game is the 4th spot winner of West and Central gets 2 and 3 spot. I also dont think Powell is more Physical than Anyone in the region or they would be better than they are.

Amen brother. Thanks for saving me from all that typing.

Oh my gosh, you're a Halls fan? They are just flat-out terrible. I hope the real reason is because they are young. While West was on their way to 50+ the real question, at the end of each qtr, was does Halls have any positive yards yet?

Comical how you try to man-up when I leave out Halls and then you give a puppy dog reply to the Maryville fan that puts Halls 4th. Thats the same Maryville fan that berates Alcoa as no good. He has not seen Halls this year. Maryville won't believe how far Halls has fallen. I can't believe our region is so weak that Halls will make the playoffs.

Powell hosts Central and will beat them. Powell played Maryville tough and beat a huge Farragut team that sports one of the area's best running backs. 2nd in our region will be decided between Powell @ West.

Using your logic (and after reading your posts, I use that term very loosely) Central played Maryville "tougher" than Powell and spanked Farragut. Powell will not beat Central or West. If they can get by Halls, then make sure your gas tank is full, cause you'll be traveling to Chatt-town for the first round.

Hold it Rebel9. Is Maryville playing West or "the Titans" this week?

If West, I pick the Rebs by my normal margin ... 4 - 6 touchdowns.

If Titans, I pick the Rebs by 3 tds. Would have just favored them by two, but with Haynesworth out for TN, I think one of my favorite Maryville studs--Zane Winders-- would probably get a late 4th qtr score on one his amazing scrambles.

GovMan,

Maryville has been getting ready for West all week but Jake thinks he is playing the Titans. I'm not sure what to tell you about this game at this point but we will show up at West and see what happens.

My logic is foward moving yours is in reverse. How many times do you watch Central now and say " this is the team that played so well against Farragut?"

Central v Maryville was not only a massacre but Central's O was so bland it looked as if they were just running plays with no regard to any offensive scheme- no rhyme or reason- just snap the ball and get tackled. They're not fast. Not physical. No passing game. No defense. Coach made a stupid 4th down call, etc.

The games at Powell. Central will lose.

03 I just deleted my other post but you my friend are way out there.

Powell will be humilated by Central it really doesn't matter were they play the game. Have you seen Powell play this year. I have twice and they fumble like crazy. Cruze is a leader and if he hadn't put this team on his shoulders they would be 1-5 at this point in time. South Doyle nearly beat them if it wasn't for two picks and one going for a score. Now you still think Powell can beat Central? I guess we will wait and see whos right when the matchup occurs but just because Central has fallen the last two games to Bearden & Maryville don't be mistaken how well they play defense. Powell is single dimensional and are not as potent as years past.

Thanks. You know your team more than I ever will. I respect your views.

Soooooo.....what you're saying is that since Central played so poorly against Maryville, even though it was a closer score than the Powell/Maryville game, that means Powell is going to beat Central?????

I guess I just don't understand your "forward moving" logic.

Yes! Im a Halls Fan Bleed Red and White All the Time, Yes the only thing u have gotton right is that there young and West did put up 50 but that was what 3 weeks ago and as u said there young and much improved! Halls/Powell game will go either way and I believe this when I say and its thrown around alot the team with the least mistakes will win!

As For Powell playing for 2nd Heck no U will see in the paper that Heck has Frozen over be4 u see Powell playing for second! The Region is a little down but not that down! Never once did I try to man up to u, I stated that ur an Idiot bc u have Powell second which is ludacris, Never once did I say either that Powell wouldnt make playoffs, they might as the 4th seed, Winner of Halls/ Powell gets the 4th spot its simple! :thumb:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
