I am one of the bigest sore losers around especially when it is my last night on a football filed but i cant be sore about this one crockett earnd it. they came out to win they were ready to play and get after it, i wish i could say the same for us. I think crockett wanted it alot more then us. it was a sad night for us seniors and i dont think all of our juniors and sophmores really knew what all the seniors on both teams were playing for and i hope they will see it by time they are in our position. Congradulations to the crockett team and even more to the seinors, as for us sorry it had to end like this if you gave it your all then your a winner tonight to and the team keep your heads up, work hard in the off season and get them next year.

GOOD BYE TO MY 30 OR SO FAMLEY MEMBERS

GOOD BYE TO MY 11 BROTHERS

GOOD BYE TO MY COACH'S

AND MOST OF ALL GOOD BYE TO MY FOOTBALL

YOU ALL WILL BE MISSED VERY MUCH.

Was a good game. Can't believe the score though. You don't happen to be #54(i think) are you? A buddy of mine was complaining about you if you are  Can't wait to see how next season goes. Coach Green really turned Crockett's football program around.

Wow!!

What has happened to Greenville?

What does it look like next year, are they young?

Big question should they play in the class that they have the enrollment for?

Just wondering

If they moved down, it would help them out competition wise, in football.

But it would absolutely kill their gate and financials. They'd go from playing all the natural rivalries - Morristown East and West, Cocke County, Cherokee, etc. to playing Seymour, Rutledge, Claibiorne, Gibbs, Carter, Pigeon Forge, etc.

And that would probably kill their gate - from a home crowd perspective but a road crowd perspective too.

Wow Wow, I didn't even check on games last night and I saw this one. Congrats to all the Crockett kids for this season. You had a 1-29 team before this one when you take the last three years into account.

Coach Green now has a full year to further develop the program. A nice big win for the seniors and hopefully a fire for all the other younger kids on the team. Good deal for Crockett, hopefully next year they can improve even more. 4-6 is not shabby at all for Crockett.

I'll try to answer these questions for you.

1. I don't think the mystery is so much what has happened as what needs to happen. GVille is a program spiraling downward out of control.

2. Next year does'nt look any better. Yes, they are young, loaded with enough talent to win 6-8 games. But, that means nothing unless someone in charge can take that talent and funnel it in the right direction and mold it into congruency. That's not happening and not going to happen under the current leadership. There is no positive reinforcement, no self-esteem building, no character building and no promotion of espris de corps between players and coaches. Why do you think there are 10-20 boys in the bleachers who should be on the field? Greeneville never dressed more than 38 kids at any game all year. I know of class 3A, 2A, and even Div. 2 schools that field twice that many. So, who is responsible for all this? I think we all know the answer. If only this issue was on next Tuesday's ballot.

3. Maybe they should play in class, maybe not. It does'nt make a difference the way the program is headed.

Peace, Out...

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
