I would like to say thanks, you really show the good that comes out of Springfield, you never havea bad word for us, your a good guy, but do u have an idea of who i am. I had my face painted in blue coveralls, also i had the SHS flag at the beginning of the game.

That also means you sat near the students/scoreboard closest to you, correct.

did see you, and love the atmosphere. my girlfrield was with me, and i wanted her to see what playoff fever felt like. Cold weather, good CoCo, Fans cheering, Home team winning, Springfield busting threw the band, and a whole lot of good times last friday night.

yes, we were closest to the score board, in green and gold, she was covered by a green and gold viking blanket, and cheering on our wonderful region. you guys are representing us well, and the winner friday will continue to do so in the ensuing weeks.

Friday, will be twice the hype, twice the crowd, and twice the excitement. I will not miss this game for anything, including RAIN, SNOW, SLEET, OR HAIL.

Who is the man? Springfield or Clarksville

Who to cheer for? Snyder is my old football coach, have some boys i know and like on that team, and a good staff, but Offit & Arrington and your fans have only been good to me threw all this, so I will cheer both on. Quarter by Quarter, but I am back in the same spot friday night. Best view in the house.

4 days till judgement day!!! win or go home!!!! this one is a barn burner!!!!!

Very good post!! The Jacket should stay focused and not get complacent just because they beat Clarksville once. I know Clarksville is an option team, but I believe they also went to the air on Maplewood as well.

Thanks. I think we have a good secondary too though, with Pardue and Graves showed me something this past Friday with that early interception. I think we have a good enough team on both sides of the ball to take care of CHS. As long as we do not have another wash out. The Jackets should take care of business. i know for a fact they will be ready for the option and Dowlen. There will be no surprises this time.

Coming from a neutral standpoint , I'm not sure if Springfield can stop Clarksville's option. I have a feeling that it is going to be a shootout! Springfield's defense must play ASSIGNMENT football, and that is something that has killed them in the past. I watched the game against Stratford and they did a fairly good job of getting pressure on the qb, but they look very vulnerable to the run. Without the early turnovers Stratford could have won the game. I look for it to be a great game Friday night, and may the best team make it all the way to state! :D

From watching both teams and being familiar with both i really believe if the Jackets come out and play their football from opening kickoff to the end they are a team to beat in 4A. With the talent and speed they have they should be able to stop Clarksville especially on dry ground. Even if its raining the field wont be as bad as Clarksville ragedy field. The stadium will be packed to the limit...and seeing springfield play im shocked every week. Most of the boys grew up around me and seeing my cousin Utley and Bey perform like they do i still have trouble believing it. At the end of friday's night game the Jackets will be waiting on either Hillsboro or Mt. Juliet.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
