to see a game like this is exciting. who cares about the past? that makes for no momentum. unless you are clarksville mad you did not win a championship you thought was yours, or it could boost springfield who believes it is theres to lose. Whatever, it is going to be a dooozy!!!! Cannot wait, only one question from this viking man. What side to sit on? I guess the winning side on friday night!!!!

Ok. I am gonna echo the sediments of my friend UTVols18. Congratulations to Clarksville for knocking off Maplewood. Thanks for doing the work for us. I am glad we get the chance to show you what we can do on a good field. Not one that had a soccer game played on it the night before. I respect Clarksville's ability to run the option, but it is no surprise to Springfield this time. They will be ready for it and our defense can handle it, you better know where Bey is or you will get knocke out. Of course I am taking the Jackets in this rematch by 11, 28-17! Go Jackets! No one is gonna come into Boyce Smith Field and take us down, and I mean, No One.

it is going to be a great game...if it does no rain i dont believe chs can hang with the jackets speed with utley and chatman...either team really doesnt know how good the others passing game is though bc of them neither throwing the ball last game...but im starting to think it is going to be another game like 2 weeks ago bc there is already a chance for rain...but one thing the jackets wont have to worry about is there fans getting out of the rain bc they wont budge at chs there fans ran for the cars while jacket fans stuck it out and kept cheering on there team...im saying jackets by 14 without rain...jackets by 3 with rain

Yeah, if it rains I will still be there for sure. I have waited three very long years for this and the other Jacket fans have waited for 13. We are defintiely not going anywhere, rain, snow, whatever. The Clarksville fans kind of disappointed me at that game.

I'm with you here. I will be there rain or shine. I myself have only waited 2 years for this. I have yet to miss a homegame this year and I was at the Clarksville game though the rain. This game is a big deal and can't be taken lightly. I doubt alittle rain will scare off our fans. But I will bring an umbrella this time.

I hope ya'll bring your A game. I want a great game. I was disappointed with the field in Clarksville we did not get to see the great game that it could have been. If it does not rain we will see a really great game, but either way the best team will win. See you there. Let's go Jackets!

This goes out to any Jacket football players that may read this. A word of advice, do NOT go into this game thinking you are gonna roll over Clarksville since you already beat them once. This is a new week, and a new game. Clarksville took out a good Maplewood team last week and are not to be taken lightly. I know Coach Offutt told you all of this already I am just echoing it! Just stay focused go out and play your game and you will find yourself playing in week 13.

utvols fan would have loved to meet you last night.

Hey coach chris, if you where their for the beginning, when the jackets ran out and the guy with the SHS flag, that was ME!! I was having so much fun and i was buck wild, i had a bullhorn but a offical said it was an artifical noise maker, all i was using it for was getting chants started and just yelling, i wasnt using a siren or anything.

But i been reading all the post and us, Springfield fans are pretty confident were are gonna win. I been thinking, Clarksville beat Maplewood on the option attack they run, we beat Clarksville on a messed up option play. We sorta got lucky well not really lucky, we just took advantage of miess-ups and was able to score BUT also we are better than CHS. Springfield v. Clarksville is gonna be a great game cause they can run the option and if Springfields doesnt stop it, Springfield might be in trouble. Sprignfield has a GREAT team on a dry field or just a field with traction we can run an option too. Also people are saying we gotta stop the Dowlen kid, the reason he was so good cause the way he runs, he ran striaght up and has legs like a horse. We got speed and jsut a few guys can jump on him and tkae him down. I decided just to say this for Springfield fans to think about but im still gonna take Springfield by 10

I agree with you there we are pretty sure we are going to win. CHS is a good team and we did play them under some rough conditions. I know we can pull this out but I do not think it is going to be an easy game. This is going to be a great game. And talkin to some of the members of our football team they said knowing the fan were behind them really helped. They are looking forward to facing CHS agian, so fan come out and support them rain or shine thye need us!

Very good post!! The Jacket should stay focused and not get complacent just because they beat Clarksville once. I know Clarksville is an option team, but I believe they also went to the air on Maplewood as well.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
