MJ AND BEYOND

First of all, while you are in your room and obviously have access to a computer, pull up a map for the State of Tennessee. You will note that the Commandos are, in fact, a Sumner county team located in Hendersonville. Thus, you have the name Hendersonville Commandos.

Now, if you are referring to the Commanders, that team is in Wilson County. They are the Friendship Christian School Commanders.

As for not supporting the Mt. Juliet squad..good and thank you for your non-support.

Hey, how's the basketball teams looking? :thumb:

Obviousley, you are not the getting the point cubbie.. Oh Yeh, how does it feel to be the 4th best team in the county--Ya know since we beat you, WC beat you, and of course the COMMANDOs #2 in the state.

I would suggest that you read the post from coacht concerning language on this site. It is on the first page of the Football thread.

Interesting how you have viewed film coach. Remember the first series of MJ offense when #6 caught that ball deep into THS territory, but was called for a bogus block. That would have most likely been a TD since THS couldn't stop the rushing attack of MJ. That would make the score 35-34. MJ still wins. What about all those late hit calls on THS, then over turned for what ever reason; even-though several officals threw flags. The offical that over-turned those calls was on the other side of the field. How did he see those late hits? THS quarterback fumbled the ball once, and that same offical over turned the call--again from the other side of the field. He must have X-Ray vision or something. I believe that would have taken another score of theirs away 35-27. Look for a close game Friday night. :thumb:

I just want to reply to the "coach" comment. I am not a coach; just a fan. THS has a live coaches show on local cable channel @ 9:00 every Saturday morning after the Friday night game. It is replayed again at 6:00 on Saturday and at 3:00 on Sunday afternoon. So anyone in Tullahoma can see the film the very next morning. I was at the game in person also.

As for a close game .... nope dont think so.

Maybe Rossview did "pay the Gods" but what did MJ have to pay the refs Friday against Tullahoma. The two touchdowns they lost to poor calls made the difference. The TD pass called back for lineman down field was boogus as proved if you look at the tape of the game. As was the untouched punt in the second half. Replay on tape shows two things clearly ...MJ touched the ball, ball trajectory changed when it was touched. Tullahoma recovered this in the endzone and had it removed due to ref saying "not touched". These doesn't even cover the unnessary roughness no call on Cass Barnes. Tape shows MJ player cleary twisting Barnes' foot/angle after the tackle right in front of the ref. A good called game and MJ loses.

I will say that MJ is a good team and believe they were underated but without the bad calls and no calls; they would be sitting home this week.

it doesnt matter what the calls were, it is over. tullahoma couldnt stand up to mj. that is it. excuses excuses excuses. mj had some serious bogus calls on them to. get over it.

I'm sittting here in my room and can't believe my beloved Devils are out. Major question! Who do I support, the only teams in county still playing are those stinkin mount juliet bears and stupid commando's. Well crap, I'm not supporting those darn private schools. I guess I'll go and watch those bears get beat down. They really are over rated. Defense isn't nearly as good as they think. With hillsboro talent, it should be no contest. Wing-t against wing-t. Athletes against, well we'll just say really slow rich bratty kids. Thinking again, I will not support them either. I'll just go watch riverdale win.

alright well obvously mj did lose to wc and lebanon which wc beat them because it was mj's first game with coach perry and the lost to lebanon was a fluke yea a fluke A. mj didnt have the I offense and B.we were still young with our new coach if u add the I and more time with our coach then lebanon would have looked like a class 1a school lebanon is jus a bunch of thugs i know cause i watched the game in person yes i also sat down with numerous officials from tssaa and i know more than 50 % of them said they would take the bears anyday with the I over lebanon and wc so brag on ur win but mj is obviously in the playoffs when ur at home playing so jump on the bandwagon of haters cause it only fuels their fire big boi

One big thing everyone might be overstating just a tad when it comes to the officiating...the TSSAA sets the crews for the playoff games, not the home team. That kinda sours the old' "the refs lost it for us" argument. And another thing, pops, don't act like you just got back from a pee wee game where your son didn't make all-star. Let me refresh your memory on a couple of other things that you might catch "on tape". Check out the last pass interference called on MJ to get Tullahoma in striking distance on 3rd and Long. Check out the flag that was picked up on a block in the back on Tullahoma's first punt return that set them up in scoring position. Check out the subsequent foul occuring after the pass interference on a MJ player "holding" before the football was snapped. The fumble by Barnes was clearly that. There were two intentional grounding calls not noticed, and the TB was cutting MJ's rushers which you may only do on Saturdays and Sundays. The lineMEN were downfield on the opening touchdown, and the MJ player did not twist the ankle of Barnes. In the words of the official, "the Tullahoma player was going one way and the MJ players momentum was going the opposite direction...nothing malicious". Now, this I can guarantee you...that player was not coached to do that. But, oddly enough, two of MJ's players' ankles were twisted following that play, and the only personal foul call that was made was on a late hit by a Tullahoma defender at the end of the half (which I also did not think was malicious). You want to get on here and whine...okay with me, but don't for one second play "the score would have been this" card on this one, because it could have been much worse.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
