Sorry, but with all due respect MJ wins and won...you cannot say this or that and the game is decided...circumstances would then require a change of game plan and quite frankly Tullahoma didn't look like they were going to stop the Bears even spotting two touches as you require.. How did that 327 yards on the ground for MJ look on the tape? How did the three touches over 40 yards for MJ look on tape? Did you catch the Tullahoma players twisting Bear ankles on the tape?

But, welcome to the party!

Thanks for the welcome and I was taking nothing from MJ as a team but was very upset with the calls/no calls. No THS did not stop your running game but your final score was 28 and was THE FINAL SCORE; THS had 20. With the two erased TD's THS's final score was 34. Therefore the "2 spotted" TD's would win the game. I saw no THS players twist Bear' s feet. Not saying it didnt happen but your Bear had gotten up with Cass's foot in hand and twisted it while Cass was still on the ground and then tossed his foot down. Not a twist during the tackle; which I know is still dirty but at least not so malicious. If Cass wanted to show the tape to law enforcement there would be a good chance there would be assualt charges filed.

MJ is a good team; I just wished THS and MJ could have played on an even field.

Would you like some cheese with that whine! B)

Oh, the cost was $150 to the umpire and $25 to the ref. The cheapest all year for a ref, what a deal.

You know ... I quit saying that in the fourth grade. I can take a loss;when THS is really beat. Hillsboro, Maplewood and White's Creek all beat THS; with no "outside" help. This was not the case with MJ. I know that MJ did not have anything to do with the calls. Just making a point. MJ did play an excellent game but possibly would not have won with good game calls/no calls.

Ok, so you didn't like the cheese and whine. How about this, "When ifs and buts become honey and nuts, we'll all be fat and sassy." C'mon, you gotta love that one, my grandma used to say it. Because if that mean old ref hadn't thrown that flag or other guy would've seen what the other one thought he saw but, and if....

Hey, if you had scored two more touchdowns that were called back just think how great that would have been!! Hey, if we hadn't run for 327 yards you would have won, how wondeful for you. B)

The top passers in the midstate by QB rating (http://www.primecomputing.com/)

NFL rating / NCAA Rating / comp - Att / yds / td / int

1. Matt Arent, Hillsboro 10-0

116.8 / 166.4 / 94-169 / 1553 / 19 / 3

2. Cass Barnes, Tullahoma 7-3

96.9 / 155.6 / 131-216 /2038 / 17 / 11

Stats from Tennessean through end of regular season. Arent threw for 303 and three tds last week against Rossview.

Interesting how you have viewed film coach. Remember the first series of MJ offense when #6 caught that ball deep into THS territory, but was called for a bogus block. That would have most likely been a TD since THS couldn't stop the rushing attack of MJ. That would make the score 35-34. MJ still wins. What about all those late hit calls on THS, then over turned for what ever reason; even-though several officals threw flags. The offical that over-turned those calls was on the other side of the field. How did he see those late hits? THS quarterback fumbled the ball once, and that same offical over turned the call--again from the other side of the field. He must have X-Ray vision or something. I believe that would have taken another score of theirs away 35-27. Look for a close game Friday night.

Maybe Rossview did "pay the Gods" but what did MJ have to pay the refs Friday against Tullahoma. The two touchdowns they lost to poor calls made the difference. The TD pass called back for lineman down field was boogus as proved if you look at the tape of the game. As was the untouched punt in the second half. Replay on tape shows two things clearly ...MJ touched the ball, ball trajectory changed when it was touched. Tullahoma recovered this in the endzone and had it removed due to ref saying "not touched". These doesn't even cover the unnessary roughness no call on Cass Barnes. Tape shows MJ player cleary twisting Barnes' foot/angle after the tackle right in front of the ref. A good called game and MJ loses.

I will say that MJ is a good team and believe they were underated but without the bad calls and no calls; they would be sitting home this week.

I heard from more than one source that the officiating was terrible and calls went both ways.........I am not going to start bashing officials. I will say that I find it hard to believe that both teams were that sloppy. From all indications it looks like the officials thought everyone at the game paid to see them. If MJ had lost, they could pick out a hand full of plays that were called back and questionable.

Bottom line, TULL could not stop a good running team all year and that is what got them beat more than officiating.

HILLSBORO will end MJ season. Good year for both teams.

I'm sittting here in my room and can't believe my beloved Devils are out. Major question! Who do I support, the only teams in county still playing are those stinkin mount juliet bears and stupid commando's. Well crap, I'm not supporting those darn private schools. I guess I'll go and watch those bears get beat down. They really are over rated. Defense isn't nearly as good as they think. With hillsboro talent, it should be no contest. Wing-t against wing-t. Athletes against, well we'll just say really slow rich bratty kids. Thinking again, I will not support them either. I'll just go watch riverdale win.

First of all, while you are in your room and obviously have access to a computer, pull up a map for the State of Tennessee. You will note that the Commandos are, in fact, a Sumner county team located in Hendersonville. Thus, you have the name Hendersonville Commandos.

Now, if you are referring to the Commanders, that team is in Wilson County. They are the Friendship Christian School Commanders.

As for not supporting the Mt. Juliet squad..good and thank you for your non-support.

Hey, how's the basketball teams looking? :thumb:

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
