Walker Valley head coach

has davis been a head coach before? surely wv wouldn't hire anybody besides a proven head coach that can in fact win. there's too much talent there to waste it on somebody learning how to be a head coach

Umpire, where is all this talent you keep stating there is at WV. Talent will overcome poor coaching at least part of the time. An 0-10 season that you were outscored 328-108 can't be all coaching.

No, but if the coaches cant figure out what type of offense to run and stick with it, then there wont be much success. On defense they ran a 3-3-5 with 4-3 players. They need to hire a young coach with a young staff who can come in there with a whole new energy level.

Yes, Joy does live in Rome and has since 2005 and even more imprtant she is not having to work since John is making so much $$$$. Hey guys believe me on this one he may show some interets becuase he loves the SE Tennessee area but there is know way that Walker valley can get close to what he is making @ Armurchee and Joy is not having to work there and she would most likely have to return to wotk if he takes the job @ WV.

Next subject!!!!

Unless you have talked with him in the last month, you dont have a clue what you are talking about. If he wanted you to know he would tell you. In other words, at this point no one has any idea.

Well what if I told you that I in fact have spoken to John & Joy both over the last few weeks. So I suppose that I do have a clue and that you are the one truly in left field. Football4me before you post please do your homework so you do not make yourself look this bad again!

Like I said WILDCAT, no one has a clue, and that includes you.

I would say that is correct about many things but on this issue I would go with Tribefan!

And speaking of Wildcats how about those UK Wildcats they won 7 games this year and it should have been 8 becuase they had the Big Orange on the ropes.

Usually tribefan you are right on with situations regarding Mullinax.....but this time I bet you are wrong. Word on street is WV has found a booster willing to build Mullinax a house and that he's taking the job.

Also, any coach should be able to go in and turn that program around as they were worst coached team in America from what I saw. They have lots of talent, especially in their 9th and 10th grade class.

Sure I did. Nearly all WV JV were varsity too while most teams played the kids that didn't get any time on varsity. Your varsity should have beat every teams JV. Two years now all I hear is talent. Out of all the male sports WV only has (1) sport they are competitive in and that's baseball. They didn't win the region in that either.

BCrising....4 wins and now Bradley people are experts on all things football. WV will be rising soon, but BC will never be able to get above 4-6 in that region. And if you knew much about the game you could realize, WV didn't play the varsity down in JV games. It was the JV playing on Friday nights. Very few seniors that made any difference. You'll be able to recognize talent better after the 07 season. Mostly because you'll realize you lost all yours and have none coming up.

OK, you win!!! Your varsity weren't the JV. Your JV were the varsity. :thumb::thumb: I keep hearing the same talk but never see results. If your on here looking for respect then earn it. AS for BC, I didn't say a word about them but your right, We lost all our talent. Wellll, accept for that back- up running back that ran all over WV and lets see, the QB and a couple recievers, a couple offensive linemen, the full back was just a sophmore and most of the defensive backs are back as well as two linebackers and a tight end. The difference between Bradley and Walker is that Bradley knows where they are at and what they have to do to get where they want to be. Walker on the other hand thinks they have enough talent to carry them as long as they get a new coach. For now lets just leave the WV- BC football debate for next year.

A talented team can go out and win regardless of coaching. Maybe a better word to use in this case is potential.

I really don't want a Bradley/WV debate at all. I would just like to see people weigh in on the WV subject that actually have some real knowledge of the program, not a WV hater that saw the one Bradley game and now knows it all.

    • Who’s going to lead the pirates offense this year?
    • Pickett is good, may have a Mr. Football like season if he’s used correctly. One of the best teams Marion has fielded in a while. I think they go 12-1 and loose to ER.  ER has better players at almost every position. If they play discipline this year, they win soundly. If they don’t though…Marion could sneak away with it.
    • I’m betting the house on the Indians. Pickett and Co will be the only team to challenge the Indians in the East. Huntingdon can in the West. I think Brooks goes 15-0 and has the first perfect season and state championship in ER history.
    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
