Word is that Mullinax has turned down the job. And Lockerby may be interviewed

Word on street is that it's between Lockerby and Grant Swallows of Tech. Swallows may have advantage because he's an English major.

Yeah. but the AD at WV was Lockerby's basketball coach. That could make it interesting.

Lockerby would be the best choice of the two. Alot more experience and strong ties to the area. Swallows would not be a bad choice if Lockerby was not interested. They need the experience of Lockerby at WV to stablize the program. He has all the connections at the next level and would bring alot of enthusiasm to the program. Who would not want a former I-AA Defensive Coordinator as their head coach? He should be the choice and I hope he gets the chance.

Swallows hasnt even looked at WV. He is looking to take over his alma at Livingston. Lockerby would def be a great choice. Good coach and even a better guy.

Several of you mentioned that WV should hire a proven head coach. Let me ask you this ... at some time, weren't all head coaches "unproven assistant coaches". Why does everyone have this mentality. Every great head coach was, at one time, an assistant who someone gave a chance. There is a great assistant coach in the Chattanooga area who has expressed interest.
