Lucas is my idol
I have watched Croy closely. He does not look like a freshman! I heard that he has an injury? I will say that I am more impressed with Brett J. He may look softer than Croy, but he seems to be a better wrestler? Time will tell. Brett's technical seems to be more advanced. 189 is a difficult place for any freshman! Ive gone with both Brett and Croy to several national tournaments. When we travled to Illinois Brett finally faced a 190lbs middle schooler with some sense about him. He lost all of his matches until he finally quit wrestling for the weekend. Unless he did alot of growing up in the last year he wont stand a chance at 189. Croy is much better than Brett and has handled him several times before. Croy would do well in other weight classes but 189 in region 6 is much to hard for him. With Wolffe at Ravenwood and Austin(i forget his last name) out of FRA both returning and a solid Franklin, Page, and Independence out there he stand no chance at making it out of the region. That was my weight class last year and I have rolled around with Croy many times he is to little and not skilled enough. Also it is Stuart not Stewart Cope and himself along with his brother Spencer have both quit wrestling. Same with region medalist at 103 Stephen Cau and Derrik Cossey. All of the CHS boys are gone. dad45
Sorry about mispelling Stuarts name . I also think that Croy would do ok at 171.He wrestled with my son at Brentwood this summer and I also think he will surpise a lot of people where ever he ends up at.It's also a shame that those boys aren't wrestling this year for Centenial. "Lucas" let me clarify a couple things for you, 1. Brett Jaeckel and Cameron Croy have Never wrestled each other, except maybe when they were in 2nd grade!!! 2. when you went to Illinois with us Brett was a 170 lb. 7th grader who was wrestling up a weight class and then proceeded to get hurt, which is why he had to quit wrestling for the weekend. By the way, whereever Cameron decides to wrestle, he will be a difficult to beat, he makes very few mistakes and is strong enough to hang with most anyone so I would never count him out of any regional match. Thanks for that. I was wondering when Croy bumped up some 20 pounds several times to wrestle and "handle" your boy as previously stated. These young talents (like Jake ) are rare in number coming up, but there appears to be a growing number of them under the radar screen. This is exciting for our great sport's future in TN. Brett Jackeal is a beast and who ever says other wise is crazy. I have never seen him stop wrestling, There had to be a reason and it is stated earlier. Brett has been wrestling awhile and whoever wrestles him better know there stuff.

Brett handled the WC 189 @ MJ. He made it look easy. He just kept working, and working. He stayed composed and focused. On the other hand, I have seen another 189 "Young Lion" get angry and lose his focus on a match with a physically strong but technically weaker opponent. I wish my son had Brett's knowledge and instincts!

pattonboysdad
Tell that to the Senior he beat last Tuesday! as i stated earlier...these cats jackel and croy are for real... i was certainly SURPRISED when some folks came on here and said other wise...but it seems to be a theme every year at the begginning of the year when freshmen are talked about...to not belive that freshmen can compete with the older guys... mr. jackel...glad to see you get on here and clear up a few things...it will take a while for folks to BELIEVE...because i went through the same thing last year if you know what i mean... congrads in advance to brett and cameron...i just hope they go up to 215 next year... hoosierdad
Cory and Brett will do fine in their Regions. Remember, they are only Freshman trying to wrestle men. They have wrestled boys for the past few years and will have to step it up. I am confident they will hold their own. However, when they get to the state, they will wrestle men who are losing weight to get this weight class and will struggle. This will be a learning experience for both and will benefit them in the future. Let's see where they are in the middle of the season when they wrestle good wrestlers. My bet is that they will struggle but still hold their own and it will be a learning experience. Let's not throw these guys under the bus before they start wrestling. They will probably do well during the season until they wrestle the better tournamnets. Even then, they could surprise. Enjoy. Remember, these guys are Freshman's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
