Smyrna

Too good of a baseball prospect that might get sidelined if he gets hurt. He IS good enough at baseball to go pro now. While he 'might' get a college offer in football he is SURE to get one for baseball!

Is Smyrna a baseball power also? If not I'd transfer now if I'd were him. I can't see things going too well for him next year if he does not play football unless they have another great year.

now we know how it feels to be riverdale

we cheat

we play to old players

we will now be recruiting experts

nobody is being quiet about anything it is a bogus thread born out of jealosusy and racism period and should be pulled from coach t

You shouldn't be allowed to post fiction and use an actual players name in your fantacy world and it be allowed to be out there as fact

As for sonny and I have heard this directly from him and his family he will be the qb for smyrna in 07 he loves the thrill of hs football.

He will not give up football period and as for baseball if it is meant to be it will happen until then he will be a hs athlete and enjoy it all.

No Smyrna is not a baseball power, but Sonny has been seen by the baseball scouts already and they ARE interested in him. He also plays summer baseball I think in a traveling league. Young man WILL be successful in anything he tries as he is just that kind of kid.

Wow someone actually paid a compliment to Sonny & you still go off..whats up w/ you? You have complained about everything being said really classy of you.

coming from someone who started a fictional post that I know for a fact is bogus your thoughts of me are well ------ inconsequential

sonny gets plenty of compliments he would not want one from somebody that just posted false information about one of his best friends and team mates.

as for complaining about everything being said well any one on here will tell you all the region 4 schools have our posters on here loyal to our schools and they nor myself will allow their school to go undefended by false accusations

and I am one of the worst or best depending on your prospective

Grow some then, and confess the accusation. Quit being such a chicken, I'm assuming I know who you guys are talking about, I just someone to be man enough to admit it. I don't think anyone on this thread has the cajones to speak the truth!!!!!

I'm not making any accusations. And I believe that it is in bad taste to be making any, especially the day after the young man just had a great game in the state championship.

wilks

To refer to Wilks, I have personally seen his birth certificate years ago. He is 18 as of November which would make him eligible for next year. Not that anyone will take my word for it. However, when he is eligible next year, everyone who has doubted that he is truly a man among boys as far as his talent level goes, will simply continue to be amazed.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
