treefitty74
Memphis Central played Vashon earlier this year and only lost by 3(or something like that) Vashon earlier in the year had a few players out for eligibility reasons....Well lets just say...alot of players...They recently got them back... Not to knock anyone down, but I'm not surprised Vashon beat Union City like they did. They are always one of the top teams in Missouri and they're good. Warren Central (KY) is also good. I'm not surprised either....I figured it would be pretty bad...
bellgo
Yeah, Vashon has played in some close game this year. Two of Vashon's losses came to good teams, White Station and Alton (IL).
semosportsweb
Here's Saturday's schedule. As for Vashon, they have a new head coach this year (former NBA player Anthony Bonner) and they've lost a couple of games so far, but they're still loaded with talent. I'm a little surprised to see them beat Union City by that margin though. 4 p.m. - Tulsa Science & Tech vs. Meridian, seventh place 5:30 p.m. - Harrison vs. Poplar Bluff, consolation 7 p.m. - Warren Central vs. Union City, third place 8:30 - Vashon vs. Forrest City, championship

Union City could play Vashon 10 times and they would lose 10 times....When they put those two 6'8" guys out on the court that could run just like UC's 6 footers it was all over....Union City plays the way they do because it's the best way for them to win...They can't play a half court game..They especially can't play that way against Vashon..Vashon would have eaten it up and UC couldn't have done anything on the boards..Sometimes you just got to admit you are over your head....These games mean nothing as far as any kind of standings...They need to learn their lessons from it and just be glad they won't see anybody else this year as good as Vashon or Warren Central.... The man is correct. ... Vashon and WC would ruin a lot of teams' day. No one on UC's schedule -- and that includes the eight who make it to The 'Boro -- would be able to stay on the court with those two teams. ... Yes, UC could have played better vs. WC. Hit more shots, been better defensively to prevents a few of the many many many shots WC hit, but the outcome would have been the same. maybe 12-to-15 point loss, but the same nonetheless. .... no disrespect to the alma mater, but UC found out it was a 1A team this weekend. Vashon and WC are another level. they're great teams. seeing is believing. To quote an old coach (or two) ... people just don't realize. Those teams were not that good and we play bigger guys every game.We might lose 10 times but not as bad 10 times. And if it is your only way to win and its not working its time to make an adjustment, and we didnt make any adjustments.Any good coach would have made an adjustment and not keep doing the same thing time after time. Those teams were good but not 30 pts better than UC.There are times when you have to do something to shoot jumpshots than to shoot layups all game.Im not sayn dont do what u do,but switch up to a half court man, zone, and a little halfcourt trap, then try and go back to your full court press. You go into a game with more than 1 plan.
