The TSWA selections above appear to be a better representation of a true ALL STATE team than the TACA Coaches list which appears to be based more on each coach submitting the names of their top players and most all teams having some representation.

How could they leave Anna Fisher off this list? She is on every list from here to Memphis but some how she gets left of this one? CHS some how does not have any representation on this list! I know I am partail but I really dont see how it is a complete representation of the best in our state by blocking out players like Anna, Jayme Trocino, and Tessa Williams. JMHO. All 3 have managed to be recognized by the other organizations how is this one turning a blind eye?!

Where do the sportswriters get their information and how many actually vote? The only time I have seen a sportswriter around a high school soccer game is at the State tournament.

Trocino I think should deserve recognition among the best. Now, by saying this im probably going to make you extremely angry but I do not think that Anna should be listed as the top five. Yes, she is an excellent player but she sometimes is hyped up because of the fact that she scores goals. The top five listed are the top five in the state with the exception of Becca Smith. She only got listed because of her 50 someodd goals because of the low talent in our district. I believe there are others better than her but I don't think Anna would take that position.

I agree how did Bolton get three players, also Kacie Horner is a good player but she scored only 8 goals this season and was hurt most of the time she was not the best player at franklin Lucy Brient scored 18 goals against great competition and is not listed on any team except 2nd team all mid-state.

the number of goals a player scores has nothing to do with whether they are good or not; correct Katie Horner was hurt for most of the season, which is the reason she didn't score more goals, however she was a great impact when she was on the field

    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
