QUOTE(Indian @ Feb 21 2007 - 10:32 PM) 826383900[/snapback]The point was that it was unusual, probably a first, nothing more. Try to tell some of the parents at the middle school championship in Jasper last fall that those games don't matter.

kilgore girl from marion played for whitwell, marion, grundy then back to marion......all high school teams....thats a first......and the middle school games don't matter when your talking about HIGH SCHOOL SOFTBALL......not MIDDLE SCHOOL SOFTBALL.....that was my point....this is a high school softball message board...

Not sure. Bwinner and Bledsoe were discussing Gilbert's travels so it seemed to be a relevant topic. I said three systems and that it was a first, I'm sure. Back to the point of the thread, Seq has a chance to be decent this year, graduated one full time starter, an outfielder, two players overall, and has a good freshman group coming in. Most of those have been playing good quality summer ball and that does make a difference. There should be some good fights for starting positions, something that hasn't always been the case the last few years. If everyone can accept her role, they could contend for a top two spot but we'll have to see. Three or four are still playing basketball as of right now and might be a little behind but that's a good problem to have.

Sequatchie played well for the most part in scrimmages against Warren County and White County Saturday. Still a lot of work to do and of course the wins don't count but it's a good early sign. Three likely starters were out since they were still playing basketball.

Notre Dame beat CCS 3-1 last night in district play. Any other scores from the week in the district?

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
