SLEDGEHAMMER2
QUOTE(NOMOORE @ Feb 16 2007 - 10:50 AM) 826374463 But Bird says give it to McDonald and give up on the 3's. Center the offense around McDonald. The opponent's defense sometimes dictates what is available on offense. To be effective on offense a team must have the ability to score in many ways. (shooting 3's, post-up, off the dribble...) When the V. B. ladies are at their best is when everyone is involved. Smart ball players understand to attack a defense where it is soft. Players don't win games, teams do.

Speedy Claxton
QUOTE(bird 33 @ Feb 17 2007 - 10:01 AM) 826375918 THANK YOU Its kind of hard to listen to what bird said when bird's player sat on the bench for half of the game because of fouls. Mcdonald had only four pts. How can you center an offense around someone who cant play because they either take theirselves out of the game or dont stay in because they can't quit trying to block shots and foul instead. I don't know who you two IDIOTS are but thanks for trying to tear a team apart. I can appreciate having a favorite player, but you don't down others that are on the same team. That is what a team is, a group of people trying to accomplish something together. Not individually. Both Laura and Porshe are great players and great girls. If you try to stop one, the other gets open. They can and should compliment each other. Our team needs both of these girls to play well, as well as everyone else, if we hope to accomplish all that we can. Last night we lost due to poor freethrow shooting at the end of the game. Not because someone was on the bench or because someone else didn't score enough points. We played hard and smart, the freethrows just didn't fall when we needed the to. Congrats to MTCS on the win and good luck eaglettes Monday night. If you play like you did Friday, you will have a great chance to continue to advance farther than most think. All you have to do is BELIEVE.

Yeah not hitting the freethrows hurt in the win but the coach should have been smart enough to tell the girls to keep it in the best freethrow shooters' hands at the end. Plus poor boxing out by some of the big girls, and poor defense on shooters at the end.
