Crazy dad

This morning's Today show featured a dad in Chicago running out onto the mat and tossing his kid's wrestling opponent 5 feet in the air. The kids look about 8 or 9 years old. The guy's kid had just gotten reversed and he rushed out and pulled the other kid off and threw him across the mat!

You can view the video at MSNBC.com.

Has anyone ever seen anything that beat that?

We had a match where a dad literally pulled - by the feet - both wrestlers out of the circle because his son was about to be pinned. He had carefully read the rules and knew that any kind of interference was a one point penalty. Sure enough - the ref gave our kid one point and the match went on. We are fairly new at this sport, but that seemed ridiculous to me!

Aproximately 4 years ago I saw a father run onto the mat during a future champions event (age 9-10 years) in Scotsboro, Alabama and bump an opponet out of the way. He has been a wrestling referee and thought his child was in an illegal headlock that was not being called potentially causing injury. Security was involved but I don't know what the consequences were for this outrageous behavior.

Can you give the full url?

For some reason, the URL doesn't show up in that particular box. Just go to:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/ on the right side of screen, in the middle, you see 'Video headlines'. Click on that. It's a collection of several video highlights recently broadcast by NBC. The thumbnail is titled: Dad attacks kid wrestler.

The video is easy to get to and you'll be as stunned as I was.

I saw it on TV last night. That's a pretty decent shot the dad has. Too bad he used it on a 12 year old kid.

Unbelievable. According to the news, he apologized and said he was embarrassed by his actions. Duh. He ought to be locked up for assault.

Ouch...., but it was a well executed reversal by the kid!

In my vaguest of memories, I do recall one father throwing his camera (completely busting it up) and chairs when his son was being beat by little Al Morris, and that was when Al and my big brother were tiny ity bity little tots. That means I was an even bittier tot!

Nonetheless... wrestlers in general have seemingly more outrageous behaviors than other sports.

Buck is commended for his well-intended remarks that demonstrate a positive attitude and respect for his fellow human beings, his posts, and, the leavening affect they have, present an example we should all try to emulate.

Hey Buck, are you from Chattanooga?

    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
