How does the District 5-AA stack up against other AA teams in the state? With Central leading the path right now and Tellico not to far behind.

Meigs was within 10 of Central with 5 min. left in the game tonight. Central needs to cut down on their muggings if they are gonna hang around very long in the postseason. I thought Central's legendary coach acted with a lot of class tonight if you leave off the C and the L.

I think any of five teams could win their district tournament, and like the poster said teams like Meigs could step up and at least pull first round upsets. Where is the district going to be?

...District 5-AA will be held @ Cleveland St., Feb. 13th-20th...it should be an interesting tournament...if the District ended today it would be:

McMinn Central, Tellico, Polk, Tyner, Sweetwater, Brainerd, Sequoyah, Meigs and Boyd...the games on this Friday and next Tuesday will solidify the seeds going into the tournament!!!

I hope he never wins it all!

Statistically, he should have two, next year and the year after. But time will tell.

I also heard they were secretly working on how to run a zone defense to use in the post season. This should be the key to winning it all. They are also going to hire a makeup artist to change the looks of each player at half time of each game to throw the ref's off.

All that is good and well.....but if they have the same HEAD coach sitting on the bench the tradition of "WOULDA, COULDA, SHOULDA" will continue.....

Really have no dog in that fight but you must be connected to a team that he put a thumping on sometime or another. Or maybe have some kin folk that could not make the cut to be on Centrals team?

    • I just saw on 5 Star Preps that Chaston Smith is transferring to Chattanooga McCallie. McCallie and Baylor are loading up. Baylor got UT commit Joakim Dodson and Former Alcoa player Kolby Barrett. They also got a bunch of other transfers.

    • The lamentable departure of the esteemed coach, orchestrated by certain board members whose intellectual acumen leaves much to be desired, is a matter of grave concern. It is worth noting that these individuals, paradoxically invested in overseeing the educational welfare of others while opting for homeschooling for their own progeny, have effectively precipitated this regrettable outcome. One can only surmise that the repercussions of their actions will reverberate for an extended period, casting a pall over their respective tenures. Such consequences are indeed a cross they shall bear.
    • In my humble assertion, I find it imperative to clarify that my personage was not among those counted. Regrettably, the departure of Coach Blake Satterfield did not augur well for the program's trajectory. It is with a tempered sense of admiration that I regard the individual of fortitude who dares to embrace this challenging mantle, for they shall undoubtedly encounter formidable obstacles in their quest to satisfy the less discerning denizens of Hartsville. May the fates smile upon Blake Satterfield in his forthcoming endeavors.
    • Do you reckon this action demonstrates sound judgment? Whom do you propose as the most fitting candidate to assume the esteemed position of assistant principal at the middle school?
