East beat Heritage today 14-4 but in Heritage's defence they just had a couple of bad plays that messed them up, Hill pitched really well, he pitched the 1st inning and gave up 0 runs so he had a good outing, niether team pitched there best the whole game or anything, i think both teams were staying with JV pitching except for Hill and McClung from WHH but anyways good game WHH and good luck to yall in the rest of the season

why are two district squads scrimmaging? That doesnt make much sense to me, but oh well. Good win East, hope yall keep up the steam. We have our first scrimmage tomorrow against USN, and then the next day against Rossview.

if usn throws Bj, the black lefty, you will be in trouble. he can easily throw in the upper 80's and tuck will back me up on this one. they also have an asian kid that pitches that has the weirdest release that i have ever seen. other than that they are no big threat. good luck

ER, we are still waiting on 4 guys in basketball. At least two, probably 3 of them will start. We are not very consistent right now. We lost to Hillwood 7-4 yesterday. Of course, we threw four guys in 6 innings and they kept the same guy for 5 1/3 for whatever reason. I'm surprised they beat NCS. They will struggle in 11AAA. We have already had to postpone our first game next week due to the basketball state tournament. Good luck to you the rest of the week. We are playing Antioch tomorrow.

I know what you mean big chief, I play for clarksville academy and we just played kenwood and they through their ace for about 5 innings as well. It really doesn't make much sense. Why not pitch everyone a little bit and get them some experience before the real show begins?

Melton, I don't know about Kenwood, but Hillwood has a first year coach and I guess he wants to tell everybody how they are winning all their scrimmages. When we got to the bottom half of the last inning and they were leading 7-4 the umpire told their coach that he would let them bat for 3 outs or 10 minutes, whichever came first, since it was getting dark. The guy told the ump "but we are winning". The umpire looked at him and said "It is a scrimmage game. I have the score at 0-0". Some guys just don't get it. We got them 1-2-3, but he still didn't pinch-hit until the last batter. He had guys he never put in the game. I think his priorities for a scrimmage are out of whack. We are going to throw six different guys at Antioch tomorrow. One inning each. I hope we can still beat the point spread. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

We beat USN pretty easily last night, but teasley is right, if BJ pitches they are a whole other team. He pitched the last inning against us and struck out three in a row, but it was the bottom of the line up. He wasnt even throwing as hard as he could.

We scrimmaged Rossview tonight and got beat, they are a VERY sound ball club.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
