I think its West v Clinton and Powell v Central monday night in elimination games.

Cooper and he had another bad outing allowing two runs in 1/3 of a inning and leaving with the bases loaded for Clarke who pitched out of the jam. This could have easily went Powells way tonight. Clarke set them down 1-2-3 in the seventh. Everyone was surprised Fielden wasn't left in to complete this game we were up 5-2 going into the sixth. But it all worked out.

Heard it was near capacity crowd at Halls, some 250++ in attendence for the Halls Powell game, standing room only. What a great day for baseball. The real story was Halls holding Hargis 0-3 with a srike-out, ground out and a fielders choice and he wasn lucky to be playing after some comments to the umpire. That guy is hard to get out. Officiating was incosistant behind the plate.

I was there and it was standing room only. Great crowd and big confidence win for Halls. Dayton nearly took one out to deep center at the 370 mark. Davis is on a tear getting the big hit and a gem of a defensive play at second. White makes a huge force out at home and then throws for the last out of the sixth with Noe making a great stretch to preserve the lead. Fielden kept Powell off balance most of the game. Clarke closed the door. Anytime you hold Hargis that has to be a big plus.

 

Coach P's bag of marbles is getting smaller.

It's going to be the rubber game between Halls and Oak Ridge. Who the the favorite in this one? Who does Halls have to pitch? Is Halls defense good enough to hold OR? Halls has committed alot of errors this year in the infield, that is going to be the difference. Looks like Halls bats are coming alive from the box scores. Alot of questions to be answered. Does coach P have the answers??????

Central downs Powell. leaving only four teams in the district 3AAA tournament.

 

Halls (2-0) v. Oak Ridge (2-0) @ 5, Halls Elementary School

 

West (2-1) v. Central (2-1) @ 7:30, Halls Elemntary School

 

___________________________________________________

 

 

Winner of Halls v. OR, sits in the championship and waits for the winner of West v. Central to play the loser of the Halls v. OR game. Then the winner of this game will be in the championship and have to beat the winner of Halls v. OR twice to win the district.

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!

      I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
