Stone Memorial AA (mystery from the middle)

Stone Memorial is the new school in Cumberland County, They are not new in experience or big game experience! Most of last years AAA team that was rated very high, were zoned to Stone with the new school. If you overlook them they will bite you. We knew about Stone in Greeneville early on. They beat us 57-55 in a hall of fame game. Mostly threes and they don't miss their free throws and we did.

i heard the girls chose to move to the smaller AA school? as they were not getting far in the AAA programs

 

seems to have worked --

 

most counties that i know about work like this - at the beginning of the year students can choose which school they want to attend in a paricular county -- but they must stay there all year in order to play sports all year

 

so i am not so sure they were re-zoned -- that's is just way to coincedental

You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. The county school board set hard zoning for the two high schools. The only kids that had a choice were the seniors and they could only attend the new school if they were zoned for it. You need to check your sources before you start posting something that you "heard". They had no clue what they were talking about either.

HS Sports fan is right. The High Schools are hard zoned and addresses were checked- resulting in some serious switching around at the beginning of the school year- on both ends. As far as not getting far in AAA- maybe they didn't make it to state the last few years, but certainly racked up their share of district and region championships and a few substate appearances as well. Don't diminish the accomplishments of this team through rumor and inuendo.

The Lady Panters are a very good team. Elizabethton did not overlook them.

Will Stone have to move to AAA next year or the year after. I have heard that they have alot more kids than they thought they would had. I was told they planned on having almost 900 but this now they are pushing over 950 what is the # from AA to AAA.

Stone will be AA next year. they are pushing the 950 mark but I think that the # to go to AAA is 1,000.

The classification for schools is done every 2 years so it will not be an issue next year. /smile.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":)" border="0" alt="smile.gif" />

Stone should be AAA next year. TSSAA let them come in as the biggest AA school on a prediction which was 920. They are bigger than 920. This is the second year of reclassification. If they have 20% over 920 they will move up that is what the TSSAA site says anyway. They are doing well in AA because they are much bigger than the schools they are playing against.
