maryville has beaten bradley tennessee high and chatt christian. mhs vs bradley 9-2. Mhs vs chatt christan 12-4 mhs vs red band 1-1 ended in a tie. 12- 1 was the score wit tennessee high. maryville plays tommrow in the semis and prob the championship

Ooltewah beat Cleveland 8-3 in the semi's. DB then forfeited the championship game because they had no pitching. Ooltewah wins the Varsity Sports Ooltewah Invitational for the 2nd year straight. Wish we could of played DB though....

I wonder if pool play format creates too many games for a high school team in a short period of time to play? I hate watching a game between two good teams get spoiled because they don'tr have any pitching left or they need to save their pitching for district play the next day, then the tournament becomes survival of the fittest or biggest.

If you enter a tournament, your goal should be to win it. If you do not plan on playing in the championship game, then don't even enter. I'm glad a good team like DB came down, but they knew up front how many games they would have to play if they were to win it. Oh well, congrats Owls! It's always good to win your own tournament.

I agree fully, that was pretty weak on DB's part. Not to start anything, just a little disappointing. It would have been a good match up.

Playing back to back double-headers in the hot sun can take alot out of a player.From what I was told DB had run out of pitchers from playing conference games all week and than playing back to back games all weekend and just did not have anybody else to pitch in the championship game.Congrats.to the owls.
