QUOTE(WHHcatcher @ Apr 6 2007 - 04:29 PM) 826431520McEwen's field doesn't round off. It's about 400 in the corner and about 550 in center. Even the slowest people can hit triples there.

400-550 are the dimensions on that feild?...you dont see hardly any HR there do you that is bigger than every MLB feild

QUOTE(A_Alexander2 @ Apr 9 2007 - 09:29 PM) 826433455Sloan (adamsville) hit number 8 tonight against Riverside... it was a grand slam.

How big r these fields. I mean some fields are like 300 down the lines like Halls Field its like 300ft or 310ft down the lines a semi hard hit ball is out of there. Another question is who was throwing what teams are these homerun hitters batting aginst?

Mcewen has the deepest field in the state, because it is square instead of round. It is also there practice football field. It is like 400 in left 550 in enter and like 380 in right.

That is freakin deep. If somebody fast burns the center fielder, it is an inside the park home run.

Marshall County also has a deep field. This field actually sounds similar to Marshall County's. Their baseball field is also there football field, so it's like 310 down the lines, but then left center is about 440, center around 500 or longer, right center is about 480. You hit the ball in the gaps or over the center fielder's head and you will run for days. That was probably the deepest and biggest field I've been on since I've played baseball.

Major league fields on average are about 330-340 down the lines and 400-410 in center. Thats a major league ballpark. This is high school baseball. The fields shouldn't be as big as college or pro. 315 down the lines and 350-370 in center should be the sizes of the park. Anything bigger is just to big for high school baseball in my opinion.... 500 feet in center??? Please be kidding me... There is no way. The deepest park in the Majors is like 420.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
