certainly they share athletes, the basketball coach just seems to do a better job with the same kids. /unsure.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="unsure.gif" />

They only share a few kids! The athletes don't play football at wartburg. Neither Shannon played football and some of the big boys that play for Layne don't play football. Nothing against them they shouldnt have to play, but things won't turn around until all the athletes play football.

Knight,

I feel that they back all their sports at central girls basketball included!! The only major weak area is in the football program. I think it will be difficult for them to ever compete regardless of who the coach is.

The athlete on the basketball team won't play because they feel it is not worth getting hurt over to go 0-10. and 4 of the top 6 players on the basketball team this year played football. No Offense but i cannot see the shannon's beeing football players. What big kids on the basketball team don't play football?

I wont call names but we've got kids that according to the Central High Roster that I found that didn't play football. None of em are 300 pounders but they could possibly help out a bit.

5'11" 200

6'0" 145

6'1" 175

6'2" 175

5'9'' 165 (This one could be a shifty running back or db)

6'4'' 200

You could find a couple of DE candidates, a back or two, and more than likely a WR in the bunch! I'm not saying that they should play, or that they alone would turn things around. I'm just making the point that if they did play it would help some. We also have a few boys that play baseball that could help. I think the first place we need to start our turnaround is in recruiting our kids within our school to play football.

QUOTE(EastTnCoachTeach @ Mar 20 2007 - 10:18 AM) 826418345[/snapback]It is going to take a lot for the bulldogs to even have a roster of even 25 in 2007, Wartburg needs some help. They don’t know who there coach is, they don’t have to work out, don’t have to run. Things aren’t looking good in bulldog country. /sad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":(" border="0" alt="sad.gif" />

Maybe you should apply for the job! I really don't think we will see a great deal of improvement in the program by simply changing coaches. The entire culture needs to change overall we need to get positive in a hurry.

    • I believe that was last year. I was interested in the Jones vs Baker comment, so I went back and looked at GC. I am not a fan of either nor am I a baseball guru. This looks like to me the duel was not close and if the errors would not have been made Eagleville would have won. I assume you are a little biased. I do think your mph for Jeffcoat and Baker must be from last year.  Baker-85 pitches 67 strikes. 5.2 innings, 5H, 1BB, 0ER and 7K's. 3 errors  Jones- 78 pitches 37 strikes. 4 innings, 2H, 5BB, 0ER and 1K. 1 error   Adams and the UH kid are really good as well. What about South Pitt and Oakdale? I heard they have some good ones.
    • I hate this for all the kids in the program and fans alike. I can't recall of anything like this before in my lifetime but I'm sure it isn't a first. After criminal investigations are complete and the TSSAA looks into this the program it will be facing Nuclear Winter for some time to come. It's always the innocent left behind that end up paying the price for something someone else has done. I'm sure the transfer portal will be very active in Clinton over the summer months. How could you find a good coach worth his salt that would take on a situation like this not knowing what will happen.
    • I’ve seen Jeffcoat in person twice and he was 84-87 both times and the one time I saw Baker he was low 80’s, he actually got out dueled by Jones from ER in that outing.
    • Pirate fans, thread is up on the baseball message board.
