QUOTE(Rt-21CBTrap @ Apr 11 2007 - 10:50 PM) 826435547[/snapback]So whats this do for the district standings? Pretty sure its still

1. Meigs

2. Polk

even after the split. As for callin the announcers classless, nice one. I've got a four year old cousin you can take a shot at next.

If the shoe fits wear it and it fits!! BTW I am not talking about everyone from Meigs there are some good people over there but for a few of the others when it comes to sports they go way overboard and I know this is true at Polk and Central too but just not as many.

Not as many ?......all 3 go way overboard and it's mostly students from all 3. The adults could definately set a better example and punishing offenders would be a good place to start. As for Coach Baker being classless, in my opinion he is one of the best people I have ever met. Don't judge a guy by what you "think" he should or should not do.

Baker is a good man and a class act. Tyler is an excellent example for all young men. Ryan is a good person as well. Didn't see what happened, just read about it. Seems to me to be blown out of proportion.

my point exactly in earlier post---this thing was way over blown--to get on here and say things about 2 fine people such as coach baker and tyler roberts shows absolutely no class--the only thing that can be said about those 2 people is that one can coach and one can play ------meigs record and tylers signing proves that.--

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
