Riverdale vs. Mt.Juliet

Riverdale and Mt. Juliet were scheduled to play a game this Saturday at Riverdale. I was told last night that the game had been cancelled by Mt. Juliet on Tuesday. I was looking forward to this excellent matchup of two good teams. Anyone know why the game was cancelled? It is good for the sport when two excellent out of district teams play late in the season.

 

 

Guess I'll just have to look forward to Riverdale vs. Beech on Monday!

Well, it is not very nice to cancel a game at the last minute as it is hard for the coach to find a makeup game. I hope Mt. Juliet had a really good reason. Maybe some of their girls or the coach is going out of town for the weekend. Is this a new game or is it one that has been on the books for a while?

Usually cancellations are caused by having to make up district games....

Well, I looked and they are not having to make up a district game. I really don't know what to think. If she didn't tell the Riverdale coach why, well I can only say that they just do not feel it is to their advantage to play Riverdale right now. I think if you book a game at the beginning of the season, you should play it, and not cancel out so late the game cannot be replaced, unless something catastrophic happens that prevents you from playing. I don't know why if Saturday wont work, another day couldn't be chosen. At this late date, Riverdale cannot replace the game. They cannot enter a tournament at this late date and even if they could, they would have to cancel Beech to do it as it would put them one over the limit. Not an option. Quite honestly, in my opinion, it really isn't good sportsmanship. I truly do hope there is an excellent excuse.

Mt. Juliet now has about eight losses, They dont want to risk another. That is my guess. It still isnt a good reason to treat another team like that.

didn't mt. juliet already beat riverdale on their turf? yeah i thought they beat them at their tournament and put them out right? hmm.. i doubt its because they "dont want to risk another loss"

Mt. Juliet has never played Riverdale at Riverdale, that I am aware of. Riverdale played them in Hendersonville and won 2 to 1, and them played them in Murfreesboro and lost 1 to 0. They should play them again. Do you know why Mt. Juliet wont play the game they booked ?

I think if you cancel a game, right before it is scheduled to happen, unless the weather prevents you from playing it, it is a forfeit. At least that is what I have seen happen before. The games ended up being listed as 7 to 0. Hopefully not, in this case, that would really stink.
