highheat
The USJ Freshman Overbey continues to be impressive with a 3 for 4 night at the plate and HR #11. I wonder if any Freshman has ever had more that 10 HRs? If Overbey stays humble, focused and healthy he could threaten the State Career HR Record. I wonder if any Freshman has ever had more that 10 HRs? If Overbey stays humble, focused and healthy he could threaten the State Career HR Record. Kyle Kanamon (sp) from seymour had 16 his freshmen year. He is a senior now and is going to walterstate. He can still hit it and brings it from the mound about 92.. Imatiger
QUOTE(wes_c_addle @ May 8 2007 - 09:27 AM) 826454276[/snapback]I thought Ripley did a nice job of staying in the game last night. They took advantage of mistakes in the field, and really battled at the plate! The shortstop was impressive both in the field and at the plate. They had one lefty who hit the ball hard all over the field as well!! I've seen both teams play better defensively, but errors happen. Who's idea was it to invite Helen Keller to be the official scorer though????????? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> After talking with the official scorer, he said that there were 2 other people in the box that were making decisions on the calls with him. So who were the other two, Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles? /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

purpletigers
The only thing on Ripley's mind should be Covington. Anybody can be beaten at any given time. I thought I saw Ray and Stevie with Helen in the press box. /cool.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="B)" border="0" alt="cool.gif" />

At this point in our season, we are all playing quality teams and the biggest challenge we face is to play to our potential. The tigers have as much talent as any team. However, Coach Geno Miller is pretty shrewd and you have to give the devil his due, his team will not roll over tonight. The Tigers have to show up and play to their potential. At this point, the Tigers, Bruins, etc... should focus and be prepared for the next game. Let the coaches worry with stategy for future games on down the road. That's why they make the big bucks anyway! /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />
wbfg965espn
Hey now, I just want to say this. The errors reported on the scoreboard do not reflect the opinions of the radio station 96.5 ESPN and its subsidiaries. /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" />

A game that many considered an upset. In any case, Ripley is out with one of the better teams they have had in a few years. 2006 state 2AA champions are still alive to defend. They play USJ at 5:00 Wednesday at USJ.
