Cookeville proved Oakland is beatable. You can be assured that Oakland respects Lawrence County in every sense of the word and knows it only gets harder as we go along. We take each game one by one.....and you can bet the team, while proud of the ranking, are wanting that ring more than anything.

Cookeville beating Oakland may be the best thing to happen to Oakland this year. Oakland realized that they can be beat if they are not fully prepared and ready mentally.

WHEWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW.....so glad this one is over. The tension was unbearable until that first pitch. I cannot imagine how the players feel. I will be honest, I was sweating when I saw Barnes take the mound. I wasn't sure if he was really over his injury and was afraid he might re-injure himself. I should have known better though....the kid is a COMPETITOR. I really couldn't tell he had ever had a problem. Memphis got a REAL steal with that kid. He is a player for sure.....so sure of himself and focused. He has grown up I think from last year and it shows. WOW..........I really think our pitchers are solid and have made all the difference. Of course....our bats were swinging as well. Tyler Burnett connected for sure.... I am so proud of these guys and their coaches. They deserve to make it to state. Let's all come out to support the Patriots!! They are something else to watch.

 

 

I hated to see Lawrence County going home. They have a fine program with great support. I can't wait to see some of T's pictures. I hated to hear about Cookeville losing.
