USJ vs. Gibbs round 2 of the day

when you have high school players cussing the fans it doesn't show much class. You don't have to look to far to see where the lack of class comes from.

Oh, you must be talking about the catcher from USJ. The Gibbs fans got to him during the game and he took his mask off in between batters and gave us a little smile and then proceeded to say, "**** you Gibbs."

If you don't believe me, ask the catcher. I'm sure he'll tell ya.

To be honest I played last year and nothing is more annoying then fans who are rude. I would have cussed you too if I felt I was being talked down upon. If you cant win a game by playing the game of baseball but by trying to mess with a teenage players head. You dont need to be there!!! Which is why your team is on a bus traveling home tonight and not preparing for a State Title!

Some days you get the bear. Some days the bear gets you.

A "Not" joke. Great job Borat. lol

I wouldn't doubt that Liles said that. And, good for him. Don't open your mouth if you can't take a good F U back! Don't you remember what it was like being 18? Remember folks, these are 14-18 year old young men. They don't come to Wal-Mart or the Jiffy Lube and harass you while you are working. Save the harassment for players who get paid to play. And the same goes for USJ fans. If a Gibbs player told a Bruin Dad where to stick it, good for him. Most people lose sight of the big picture. That is, using tools such as baseball to encourage education, teamwork and develop upstanding young men who are a benefit to society rather than a stink on the system. My hat is off to all players and coaches that have to put up with all the B.S. that can come from parents and fans.

Honestly though, I haven't been on this site in over 3 years. Ain't nothing changed! People still bitchin about the other teams fans being classless and Dyer, Eubanks and the other West Tennessee coaches and their teams still making a good run at the Fling.

Have some fun out there. This game is supposed to be fun d*mm*t.

Sludge...I wish you here so we could go to the game and watch Dyer and his troops march on. Your comments are correct. If there are parents out there dogging out a player during the game then the player ought to turn around and tell you to go to &%$#. Parents keep your mouth shut except to encourage your childs team. You look idiots when you talk down to a high school kid. I wish I was the one you were talking to because that would be the last time you spoke to high school player like that. I promise that!!! That is so stupid.

QUOTE(Gibbsqb11 @ May 25 2007 - 12:05 AM) 826466643[/snapback]so how does it make our fans unclassy when we yell? I do believe that USJ fans that were twice the students age from gibbs were yelling the same things the whole time.

Kind of reminds me of the bully or a pest that keeps on messing with the wrong person and gets his tail whipped, then goes crying to mommy and tells her he didn't do nothin. It wasn't just the yelling that you started that was so classless, it was the personal insults ( including the field crew), coaches, players, fans, etc. Anyone at those games knows who started it. As a matter of fact , we put up with it the entire first game. I guess anyone can be pushed to his limit. Kind of funny to see someone get beat at their own game.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
