ydet
I gotta throw BGA's 06 team out there. The way they were playin at the end of the season, I think they could have played with just about anybody.

takedown3
QUOTE(Hoya @ May 30 2007 - 03:22 PM) 826469210No particular order: Houston '99 and '00 Baylor '00 Christian Brothers '01 McCallie '01 Bearden '01 Farragut '03 Your selection of McCallie '01 is an excellent example of the vagaries of soccer. I still haven't gotten over their last game of the year! The '99 team won state but certainly wasn't near as talented as the '01 or '02 teams. C'est la vie. Seldon
QUOTE(The King of the Burbs @ May 29 2007 - 10:04 PM) 826468932The 04 Farragut team was strait raw, but i've heard players that played on each say the 03 was better. Being very familiar with both the 03 and 04 Farragut teams, most of the people involved with whom I have talked generally agree that, even though the 04 team was Nationally #1, the 03 team was actually a little better. However, the senior 04 class was outstanding. I also think the Houston team that dismantled Bearden in either 00 or 01 was extremely good. FrankSnickers
For me it's hands down Farragut '04. Bearden '03 was up there though.

I still haven't gotten over their last game of the year! The '99 team won state but certainly wasn't near as talented as the '01 or '02 teams. C'est la vie. '01 was an amazing year for talent in Tennessee High School soccer and I think McCallie's '01 team was the best team in the State that season, regardless of classification. They would compare very favorably to every other team I listed, including the '99 and '00 Houston teams with all of their future college and pro talent. Of course, from my extremely biased perspective,"Viva les vagaries!" McCallie's last game of that season was the beginning of a pretty good run for my favorite team. /wink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=";)" border="0" alt="wink.gif" />

That is the year they had Matt Brock and Jordan Wood right? I think we played them and got beat pretty bad haha. I forgot about that team. Bearden 02 was very good; Bearden 03 was beaten 3 times by Farragut, including 3-1 in the State finals.
Hoya
QUOTE(reaction @ May 31 2007 - 02:59 PM) 826469679Did '01 McCallie win state that year? That is the year they had Matt Brock and Jordan Wood right? I think we played them and got beat pretty bad haha. I forgot about that team. No. Christian Brothers won DII that year. The expected game between McCallie and the Brothers would have been a classic between two exceptionally talented sides. Instead, McCallie, which was ranked #1 or 2 in the nation that season, lost in a totally unexpected and very improbable 1-0 upset to Knox Catholic in the DII East semifinals. Seldon- You almost got it right. The 03 Bearden team beat Farragut 3 times and lost the fourth one in the Championship game in OT, and yes the score was 3-

They didn't even get to the region final. Seldon was right. The '03 Farragut team beat Bearden 3 times, 3-1 in reg. season, 5-4 in dist. champ., and 3-1 in the state finals.
