Here I sit 4 hrs away from Elizabethton and I can hear the 'smack' being talked in the parking lots from here. Friday night LIGHTS SPECIAL IN CARTER COUNTY!!

My slant on the game after seeing Elizabethton in the jamboree and playing HV 7 on 7 is that this one could be close depending on Elizabethton. What I mean is HV has a formidable air attach so a lot will ride on whether Betsy’s secondary can play as well or probably better than they showed me in the jamboree. The other is the Elizabethton QB will definitely have to step it up from what he showed last week…and I will give him the benefit of the doubt and leave it at that for now. Ace in the hole this year for Cow Town has to be the RB…HARD runner with decent speed and vision. Very exciting to watch!! If this kid gets enough touches (depending on how durable he is), and the secondary steps up…this could turn ugly for HV. Good luck Cyclones…and go MLC!!

I left a bit early but it was 24-6, Cyclones. Puddin', please be advised that Betsy has a 'foot' this season (of course they had him last season but wouldn't let him kick). He nailed a few extra points as well as a 30yd FG (or there abouts). The Cylcones seemed to overwhelm the Warriors in the first half and ran clock the second half. Halftime score was 24-0. To HVs credit, their guys never gave in and played hard the entire game. Good opener for the Cyclones but now comes some stiff comp. Good luck and good job to Wes Anderson!
