Reviewing the schedule it looks like Farragut's first two games of the Tourny were against weak teams. I would think they could win both with minimal output by their starters thereby saving them for the tougher games against Houston and Collierville.

Farragut was a good side. They played well, did not back off at any point of the game. I wouldn't disagree that both teams would have looked and played dramatically better on a full 2-days rest. We are also very thankful that although it was hot (90s), it could have been much worse as we have dealt with >100 degree weather for 15 of 18 days in the west.

ORHS did a great job of providing a great place and atmosphere for all involved.

When you enter a tournament, teams generally expect to play consecutive games over several days without a great deal of rest or recovery. Every team dealt with similar conditions, or worse. Why was this the only team that 'bruinsoccer' felt it necessary to place the post for?

Unlike club soccer, high schools carry large rosters and substitute frequently, thereby preserving energy, especially for the semi-finals and finals of a tournament. So if the last game in the weekend is the "FINAL", the most fit and prepared team will prevail. And that is how it plays out in club as well, nothing unusual here.

Most high schools also condition over the summer to prepare for weekend tournaments.

SO...when you ask was it really necessary, are you referring to my reply or the orginal post?

I was not referring to your reply. Sorry for the miscommunication, but thanks so much for the lesson in "the difference in club and high school soccer" (generalization in your commentary, though).

Isn't interesting though to see how quick and eager some people are to argue with a post that they are not involved in (I am not talking about you canes). I just grow tired of coming on here to check scores and comments and continually running across high school players (or parents of players) who would argue with a fence post.

But this is a message board. I suppose I should get over it. It is all just rubbing me the wrong way tonight.
