SURELY Portland is better than that! I only saw Portland play once last year, but they played with reckless abandon. They might be young, but I bet they give WH all they want...

Its not that Portland is bad. Its just that White House has an abundance of talent everywhere on the field. This team could remind some of the 1997 and 2004 teams.

TRUST ME FOLKS!!!

If White House is as good as the folks say following the scrimmage with David Lipscomb then they'll win this game by at least a 3TD margain. Portland is going to be better in year number two under coach Bever's direction but they are nowhere near the powerhouse that they were in the late 90's-early 00's under coach Roger Perry.

There just aren't any Gerald Turner, Richard DePriest, or Josh Bolton type of game changers walking the hallways to the school right now. HOPEFULLY THOUGH THAT WILL CHANGE IN THE NOT TOO DISTANT FUTURE!!!

Other teams within the very strong Region 4-3A have already beaten average teams in higher classifications:

Pearl Cohn beat Memphis East (28-12)

Sycamore beat Springfield (24-0)

Greenbrier beat Pope John Paul II (35-28)

Station Camp beat Hendersonville (19-17)

This game should be no exception as it pits a very strong 3A team against an average at best 4A team.

#'s 1-5 in Region 4-3A are very very talented football teams this season and it's just a darn shame that one of those teams will likely wind up missing the playoffs. They'd all be playoff teams in just about any other region in the state.
