Panthers08
This is a joke. South this year is just like that Tennessee High team from a few years back, 04 or 05 i think, that came in to the maryville game undefeated and claiming they were gonna take down the giant. Well Maryville went to TN High and beat them 49-0. The game was never close. Maryville isn't a flashy team per say they are like a machine...You'll watch them go four yards, five yards, two yards, three yards, sixteen yards, four yards, then forty yards. It's a different brand of football in Knoxville. I would pay to see that game too, so all the pretenders from the mountain lakes will realize that there isn't much real football played east of Knoxville. tommytoe
How can any team be judged this early into the season? There are too many things that can happen between now and then. Come on people...how about some topics we can sink our teeth into?

dobynsbennett123
#1, we'll never know if South could've beaten D-B this year. Based on the last several years though, I would not have bet on it. I only bet on sure things, i.e. our win over Science Hill. That was a sure thing. #2, D-B vs. Maryville was a freaking scrimmage. Forget it. #3, South cannot worry about Maryville. Take 'em one game at a time. #4, I can't believe I even wasted my time responding to this topic! #2 that's why I said showing all their cards, they would have stayed with the short pass against us in a real game.It was to tempting not too reply.I know that things can happen and South or any other team may not even get to the playoffs, but it's no different then picking this weeks games. It's all in fun

athlete269
Wow...whoever posted this has some real guts. Who honestly would even begin to talk about the playoffs after the 1st game of the season!! I bet you just jinxed yourself! Tell me....what happens when the "great Curt Phillips" gets hurt in a game in the next couple weeks and ends up out for the rest of the year?? Or...if South happens to have several injuries to several starters, then what? Now, I am NOT saying this will happen or am wishing their team an "unwell" season. Just trying to say...Talk about the playoffs after week 10!
noonesfool
Win conference first, more positive comments to follow. By the way Region 1 seems to struggle just getting through Region
