Now Purple when you walk into a convience store you expect to look at counter and see a cute lil something waiting on you right?

A hot food counter, right?

A bunch of candy and stuff right?

A Cigarette @@@@ right?

Well, when i went to Lake County last year here's what I observed.

The cutie I expected was sixty, and dipping snuff. I could tell by brown ring around lips

The Food counter, candy, and cigarette racks, and granny were all hid behind bulging shelves of deet. And surrounded by mosquito netting. Bigster, Don't tell me they aint biting in Lake County.

Sounds just like the woman the dating service was fixing you up with!

That's funny,I heard the government used the area surrounding McKenzie as a nuclear testing site back in the 40's...Reminds me of The Hills Have Eyes!!!!

That's also funny since UC is technically SOUTH of Hwy. 22 BUT, you are right about the nuclear testing. We all glow in the dark here now. It takes 4 generations to breed it out of us too. So every Friday night when there is a home game, they just take 4 of us volunteers and run us up the light poles at the field and we light 'er up for the games!!!

Bet you look up at the lights when you get here this season!!! I'll be up on the pole at the band end of the home stands for that game!!! Butchie will be at the bottom of the pole to raise and lower me for halftimes, bathroom emergencies, etc. I'll give ya a big 'ol wave from my perch!!

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
