After getting the 450 rushing yards hung on us against Hampton, there we basically 3 guys changed out that

I seen. One was an outside linebacker who was hurt and didnt play in the Hampton game but was projected as a starter anyway, the other two played but not much in that game. I think the coaches decided to go with the 4/4 and keep athletes on the field rather than just the big guys. We stacked the line (or tried to) on Hampton and when they got through the first wave, it was 10 to 15 yards a pop instead of possibly less if we had just stayed in the base 4/4 or even 3/5. The best change which I seen on defense was putting in our quarterback at linebacker. I know that sounds crazy but he is by far a better linebacker than a quarterback. He is a good quarterback also. They tried to protect him I am sure but when you are small in team size you have to do it to win. 6'3" 230 lb linebacker is nice to have and I asure you made a big difference. He even returned a pick for a TD against Besty and I think they rushed for around 95 yards. On offense we went back to running the ball and got into the "I" which I was very thankful for. Basically the adjustments were to go back to JC football and get out of the spread split backfield and trying to throw to much.

I have seen your QB run with the ball- his transition to linebacker doesn't shock me in the least. I see what you mean by stacking the line; crowding upfront can sometimes make a lineman's job pretty simple: block down, block down, block down, kick out and then you're one on one with the free safety. I have to admit that hearing JC's back in the "I" immediately makes my knees ache and head bust. Fond memories of taking on two fullbacks waist high.

I hear ya on the knees and head. Been there and done that but it would kill me now. Best of luck to the Blue Devils going forward. Obviously I always want to see JC win against UC, Hampton, etc. but once those games are played I like seeing Hampton win and for the most part UC. The most part meaning if it means playoffs in the MLC. Guess we will see you guys in a few weeks on the Mountain and heres to hoping we stay in the "I". You never know.

well cloudland has been dominant besides the past couple of years. we just dont have the depth in region 1 to be considered dominant like region 2 3 and 4 do. i have a feeling that cloudland will be back to their old selves next year. but all in all northeast tennessee will produce a dominant team or two but as a whole there is not alot of competition in region 1.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
