Buc.. If you had every police officer in the county..and the surrounding counties there.. and TBI Agents..Ambulances lined up ready to go..parents crying and going nuts because there was an alleged armed gunman ( turned out they couldn't find the gun ) in the school, then i doubt you would be in any mood to "lighten up" about rowdy fans.. Volunteer just went through an extremely tough/tense time and this was no time to be overly rowdy. Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it was all you all, we had the Sasquatch guy with a jersey on running out on the field. I just feel like maybe this wasn't greatest time to test the limits with police.

Several announcements were made and signs are posted to stay off the track. I am not saying I agree with this policy but it is enforced. I too would like to see a visitor side bleachers put in at Volunteer. Seperation goes a long way towards eliminating potential problems in the stands. As far as the painted group with the flag from Boone, I think they should have been warned and allowed to stay in the stadium as well. They were doing their part for the team. As for the Sasquatch.....BAD TIMING....after a 6 to 8 hour lockdown with a "rumor " of a potential gunman....not good. I thought the Sasquatch thing was hilarious, personally.

As far as the game... The Falcon D performed excellent except for getting burned on a couple of passes. Probably the BEST defensive effort against a quality opponent I have seen in 27 years of Falcon Football. They played lights out in the trenches all night. The Falcon offense did well also, I think Boone had a pretty good defensive plan that we were finally able to break a few runs on and that, along with the great defensive effort, allowed us to take control early in the 2nd half.

Now, Congratulations Falcons and good luck Boone the rest of the way. I think both teams will be a factor in the playoff picture when it all shakes out in a few weeks.

Go Falcons, get ready for Bell County KY!!!!

ahh that cocke co. game was a fluke... if VHS would've came out rowdy and ready to play like the past 2 weeks it would've been 49-0..Dont take Volunteer lightly..like they've lucked up a few weeks..or that boone was having an off night..Volunteer is for real and very easily could been 4-0..granted they're not..but just as good as anyone in the conference..holding mitch masters to 8 yards rushing on 9 attempts..thats Volunteer DEFENSE!!!

I have learned one thing.................

Possibly the worst place to watch a high school game?

Volunteer.

Don't get me wrong, the Volunteer fans and students were great, and their players, well, they kicked our butts, I won't make excuses.

I'm talking about no parking, cramped space between the gate and the concessions, and most of all, what's with the "no one allowed on the track" deal? If you don't even have visitor's stands, and not enough seating capacity for an average high school football game, you could at least let fans stand around the track and watch, since it doesn't obstruct anyone's view.

Less than 5 minutes into the game, we had 4 students thrown out of the stadium, their only offense being stepping onto the track in front of our cheerleaders and student section to wave a Boone flag after our TD. No warning to stay off the track, just thrown out.

Next, a Volunteer fan, dressed in what appeared to be some type of gorilla suit and a Volunteer jersey stepped onto the end zone to fire the VHS crowd up, on the opposite end of where Volunteer scored, and he was literally chased down, tackled, and handcuffed. Lighten up!

Then, our four students who had been tossed for the heinous crime of stepping on the track left, and parked along the road outside the stadium behind the end zone, where there were already 15-20 other cars parked, and stood on their vehicle so they could see the game from a distance. When our student section saw this, they began cheering them. Of course, when Roscoe and Enos and co. spotted this, they dispatched 2 cruisers to confront them and make them leave, even though other fans were out there watching the game as well.

To the team and fans at Volunteer, congratulations on a solid win.

To the administration and deputies, get a grip. /mad.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="mad.gif" />

Buc, go back and read your post again, this sounds like it was written in anger. To label the policemen on duty as

Roscoe and Enos and co. surely after the events of Thursday you posted before you thought, at least I hope you did.

The painted student who grabbed his crotch in front of the Volunteer student section, cheerleaders and the fans in the

stands (that was not cool) this happened on the way back to your section after the cheerleaders and the flag bearer

lead the Trailblazer players on to the field .

Announcements were made all thru the game and signs are posted on the fence to stay off the track, this applies to

Volunteer students and fans alike. If this bothers you call the school and ask I am sure they will give you the reason.

As for the seating, I don't think anyone there last night designed the stadium , notice the bank on the other side of

the field mayvbe that had something to do with the stands being how they are. This was one great and fun game

and we all should look at it that way. How would you feel if the fans from Volunteer came to Boone and made a

post such as this? Until you know the true situation don't make assumptions. /blink.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blink.gif" />

So did the aforementioned student grab his crotched before or after he got hit repeatedly hit with drinks and candy?

Before, during, after, it is totally immaterial. the boy was vulgar in front of many people. All would have been fine if they would have stayed on their side of the fifty. They were not celebrating, they were inciting a crowd. If you want to celebrate, do it with people of like minds, not some who would just as soon hit you with a coke bottle. :thumb

Actually he would have gotten kicked out if he was on the boone side of the 50, and i agree with that call. I do not, however, understand how you can attempt to physically harm someone and nothing happen. There were signs so i see the ground on escorting them out of the stadium. Also, the reason them monkey-bear-bigfoot was taken to jail was because resisting arrest, at least thats what the cops said.

I didn't post that in anger. Why would I be angry? I wasn't involved in the slightest. And I do know the situation, I didn't make assumptions.

First of all, I understand what happened Thursday. Under the circumstances, yes, the school had to be locked down. As it turned out in the end, though, it was not as dangerous a situation as it was first feared to be. I think school officials handled it the only way it could be handled, OK? That being said, it was not Virginia Tech. The situation was over, and the perpetrator in custody.

Secondly, the first announcement about staying off the track came about 5 minutes after the boys were thrown out. There are signs at the bottom of the stairs, although there were several smaller kids sitting on the rail in front of the one below me. (Still, I saw it.)

Thirdly, nobody accused you of designing the stands, I simply pointed out that they were close to the gate, and maybe need to be bigger. Visitor stands of aluminum bleachers could still be easily installed on the opposing bank, although at an added cost because of the extra support beams, but hey, that's just an option.

Fourth, that's the only place I've been to a ballgame where no one was allowed on the track. Maybe it's not the only one, but the only one I can remember going to. That's crazy. Whatever the reason.

Fifth, although I didn't agree with it, I understand those boys were asked to leave. What puzzled me is why they were made to leave the roadside outside the stadium. Other cars were parked there for the entire length of the roadway, and people were sitting up in the backs of trucks in lawn chairs watching the game, but for some reason, these four were the only ones asked to leave. Now, why was that?

Sixth, how would I like it if someone went to a game at Boone, then made a post like this? Waaahhh. I can tell you because I know them, that the Coaches, AD, Principal, or Booster club Pres., would welcome the feedback. They want to know what people like and dislike about the experience, so they can make improvements. Not enough parking? They built a back gate to the stadium and utilized the church parking lot behind the stadium. There is even a picnic shelter for tailgating. People have posted on here about going to Boone, and thanks to the administration, it has been almost all positive.

Lastly, don't take it so personally. I said the game was great. Your team kicked our tails, plain and simple. The Volunteer fans are gracious, friendly, and they know their football. The facilities and rules just make it less fun than other schools. My opinion, that's all.
