i support the few good guys out there but as far as the school i do not support an administration that covers up incidences just because they suit up friday night i'd rather lose ball games and have integrity than win with borderline criminals

OHS OWLS 2005......if you ever attended OHS as your name suggests, you obviuosly don't know the administration too well. They do not mess around when it comes to discipline. Mr. Foster and other administrators are " no noncense, regardless of what sport it affects. You have your mind set to believe one thing and one thing only. You are a FOLLOWER, not a LEADER. I have no children on the football team, dance, cheerleader, band, etc., so my view is not tainted by wanting to win. However, I am VERY involved with OHS and the community and I make my decisions based on knowledge not "hear say". I am sorry that you have such strong negative feelings for Ooltewah, there are a lot more than a FEW good guys here. I hope that we can change your mind about these things, but if we don't that's ok. You have the right to think whatever you want, even if your information is clouded.

All I can say is come to the games. You will see a comradierie of good people, watching an overall good group of 15-17 year olds enjoying the best years of their lives, and learning from eachother that people, including parents make mistakes. It's how you take your's or someone's else's mistakes and learn and grow from them that develops character and good morals. Ooltewah is a great school, and EVERY school out there has a few bad apples. You deal with them and move on, just as Ooltewah has.

Go OWLS! Let's show some school and COMMUNITY spirit tonight.

First and foremost, nothing was "covered up" there was an extensive investigation and 3 people were arrested. One player was kicked off the team. Second, we have only lost ONE game. This is not a perfect world and this was a very serious incident that was investigated taken care of and is now over from this teams standpoint. Others kids, players, students, band, cheerleaders, dance team, parents and coaches and yes administration work very hard to keep this program going and have never done anything to get this kind of treatment from some people in the community. Yes a terrible thing happened. Because it was not handled exactly how some people thought it should have been, because they were hurt, angry or "EXPERTS" on situations like this is not the problem of the people trying to get on with the season. Should the football program be stopped altogether??? Should all the kids at that game be kicked off the team??. Should the coaches be fired for not locking those kids up when they go out of town??. Should the kids be put in jail, when they did not physically harm anyone??. Who's place is it to decide these things??? This is so crazy. This season is far from over. The way to show INTEGRITY and class is to come out and support this team and school. It is your choice if you do or not. But blasting this team over and over does nothing to help or hurt the situation. PLEASE let's talk FOOTBALL and let this go. PLEASE!

yes,it's true..couple of persons of color, showed up said they had a gun, kids took off running, the police took care of it in a hurry,it was over and done with quick!!!!..,..now weather or not they actually had a gun don't know, but the police didn't play around w/ them at all to say the least. reportedly, they are going to get back at owls,by beating up cheerleaders was the rumor for last 2 weeks(cheer mom, told me,tonight)...about the game, all the owls looked good except the QB,he's terrible..2/13 maybe 25yds,one INT one td,gino norwood saved his rear,he rushed for one TD on a one foot qb sneek, which I thought was a bunch of bull, because MARSHALL took it the length of the feild, then our local idiot sneeks it in!!I have gave, him the benefit of the doubt from game one, but, with that said,OWLS need a change in the passing game big time,if we ran the option or veer or something,no big deal on passing, but we don't,we are in big trouble coming up against oak ridge,farragut..,..he's passes where all over the feild, the INT he through was right to 5 bradley players!!! I know he is young, but,I don't care anymore,I took up for him on several ocassions, not any more..,..student body started chatting for back up to come in!! POLK is a stud at backup running back for marshall,he had 2 tds,he made look easy. OWLS defense was awesome,OFFENSE was awesome(not the qb),anyway..,..hope owls get it together,OWL fans are hungary for big time football w/ so many weapons on offense!!

The rumor is true. It was expect for two weeks now, ever since incident downt here. I don't know who they were trying to start a fight with - I don't know if it had anything to do with the cheerleaders they just moved the cheerleaders away since it was close by, maybe?

The part of the rumor that left in question was that the Ridgeland people had brought a gun - but who knows that's the only part that I know not to be true.

It is honestly pathetic. It was bad enough that a few students from OHS went down to their place and started a fight... but even worse that they couldn't just leave it alone.

I agree the QB isn't very effective and he is young - which isn't an acceptable excuse at this point in the game..a lot of young players contribute better than this guy.. but no reason to put him down like that. Too bad our senior QB quit the team... he had a bad effort his first game and loses the job.. but now look where we're at. He filled in decently last year when Woods was hurt so I think he could be back in it if he had stayed.

Hey, don't be so hard on the QB, everyone has a bad game, or two or three. The fact that he is young is the reason. Give him time. He may not develop this year, but he has alot of potential. He's a 15 year old kid, he's doing the best he knows. Give him a break. Ooltewah will just have to make the best of that we've got. Afterall, Farragut just beat WB. ANything is possible.

GO OWLS! To the QB: if you read this, keep trying, it will all work out sooner or later, don't be discouraged. We support you and the team 100%.
