but being realistic, central has improved 100 % since last year...Polk and Meigs will be one of the hardest hitting, run over you style football game you will see all season. But trust me Polk, Meigs laid the licks to Central, just worry about one game at a time. This should be the game of the week, I look for Meigs to upset Howard tho in week 8. If Meigs beats Howard and Polk, I think Meigs will win the region am i right? Central will have to lose to polk and howard......this is so crazy but Central has some speed, i dont like them at all, but its the facts... Meigs wins this one in 2OT

Yep but my blood still ran red and blue!!

Let me ask you this: As a whole is Polk better this year or last year???? Meigs is down but they still have a good running game and the Freak Howie has the Biggest and best set of hands in East Tennessee. Can the other players take the pounding for 4 qts. If they can this should be a great game

The kicking game will keep Meigs from winning in OT

After reveiwing the stats and seeing them play I would say Polks offense is better than last year, kicking game is better as Hammons really works hard, defense maybe not as good as they seem not to play as hard

your right my friend, Meigs will go for the win in overtime. While Polk chips away the extra-point, Meigs will pound it in for two. Howie Meadows does have the best hands in the region no doubt. He is about 6'3 w/ great speed and can out jump about anyone. He was the only person I knew who could dunk a basketball in eight grade lol. So watch for the lob passes up high. As far as their young qb, Zach Rayl, he has improved alot . He was nervous playing Central by it being his 2nd High School game ever played. He has capitailzed and has been making smarter choices. Gary Shoot #44 is the one who has amazed me the past few weeks. He is very quick with the best moves in the region. Look for the tigers to step it up and when in overtime by going for two, just like they did w/ Boyd Buchannan.

Coacht members even know what the results is going to be, with over 68% going with Meigs

Good luck to both teams,

I have that kicker from Polk in mind when I start my recruit. He is an excellent kicker kinda reminds me of the kicker from East Ridge from 05 season. I also like Mobriant and Shoot from Meigs, #20 from Grundy, the quarterback for Central. Looking forward to seeing Howard play to see their athletes

Pick a place and stay.. If you workED on the field as much as you run your mouth then you would have got to play at Central...

You sir, are an idiot.

I am his dad - Polk County players do not post on this board.

And as far as working hard? Cody Price was the only one who could/would/did hit Renardo last year, he'll hit anyone and if you talk to somebody from Central who has actually seen him practice/play - you'll be told to pull your head out because Cody is crazy in that regard.

Now go away or I shall have to taunt you a second time.

Meigs dominated this meeting last year at Meigs. I remember watching the game last year and Meigs QB Roberts scored on like a 30yrd QB sneak first time I ever seen that happen and Meigs had a reverse sweep TD pass that was sweet. It was one of the most exciting games I've watched. This year will be no different, just like every year between these two teams, it will be a good one! I think Meigs wins this one by a touchdown. It will be a tough hard nosed game and the two best coaches in the region will be going head to head once again. Good Luck to the Tigers, Play Hard and Play with class.

Here's the deal:

You can attack me anytime anywhere you want - I can handle it - you attack my son(s) and you will have to deal with me - upfront and in person. Not a threat, a promise.

Is that clear enough?

Point: If Cody cannot play, why would Derrick award him with Scout Team Player of the Year at the Central football banquet?

Point Two: Cody recieved his Varsity letter last year from Central.

Point Three: Moving fro Central to Polk was my decision, not Cody's - the writing was written on the wall at Central by a coach with zero integrity.

    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
    • No my fight, but ... if they were already college-caliber prior to transferring to BHS, and they already had FBS interest, and they end up at an FBS school, how did Bearden do anything for them?
