Maybe one or two. But I can tell you if you ask the team as a whole who they want. It would be fitzgerald. Now Hammontree had some good ideas but as a person he was not right. What and like these players don't work hard and sacrafice their bodies, time, personal life, and school to meet the demands now? Please! I know the coaches don't like hammontree especially since he took all the football programs money when he left and put it as a down payment on his house in Georgia. Now I'm no law major but I believe that is theft. Hammontree was a joke to the school they should have never brought him in to being with. Infact I know there are some of the younger starters and players that said they would not have played for Hammontree.

 

Oh really? did you ever play at Rhea? Im just wonderin if you was one of the kids he kicked off for making dumb decisions? But your right this team would like Fitzgerald better, life is so much easier with him there the workouts are jokes and no one is made stand accountable. Under Hammontree the players knew what they were playing for. Coach Hammontree was hated by parents and fans because he wasn't scared to tell people how it was and not try to please everyone. He wasn't running for mayor he was coaching football and in his own way. Not saying this coaching staff isn't but why put him down when in all truthfull ness with out him and his offensive coordnator Mike Kinney this program would not be near what it is. Rhea would be in the wing t still which is what they should run now but not in the past when they could throw. Kinney was a great offensive coach and Cameron has no idea how to run this offense he needs to go back to what he knows, wing t and pound it.

caleb, why would you care what team is better? If there is one thing both Hammontree and Fitzgerald taught us it was that we would always be golden eagles. why would you bad mouth coach fitzgerald and coach cameron. playing for both ham and fitz I learned things from each coach. I am glad I had the opportunity to play at Rhea.

Playing for both I think hammontree was better in the off season program and coach Fitzgerald got us better prepared for games from week to week. We didn't practice long or watch much film with Coach Hammontree, seems like he enjoyed the weight room more than the games.

Hate to break it to you Rhea fans, but there is a memorial to the LATE BIll Horton in the end zone. Let him rest in peace!!..

 

Rhea HAD several great players in the 80s who were coached by different coaches in middle school and at Rhea before Horton!! Maybe the coaching staff at Rhea who preceded Horton would have won, also.

Yep your a coach. Im not hiding behind anything! Tell me what I said that isnt true. Why did you not answer any of my questions? Yes last year we won both games m4 but we were suppose to were we not? Central was the #3 seed we were #2 correct? Im not comparing any team to any team. What i said was (now listen) the mindset we should have. We walked into a game knowing we were going to win not hoping too back with Horton! Should we not think this way? If thats too much to expect I apologize. Our coaches were not playing to win Friday I dont care what anyone on hear says were playing not to loose! We were more scared to make a mistake than making a play! Let me tell you this theres alot more people in the stands wondering the same things as me. And as far as people being critical about our coaches thats part of it is it not?

i agree coach Horton was the greatest Rhea has ever had but who knows Fitzgerald in time could build this program up but it will take time. But Im sorry I dont know what caleb you think I am but I can assure you my name is not caleb anything. I just talk about those teams because I have been paying attention to these past few years of football and all the people have done is get on here and talk about how great this team is whan they are not all that

My football crew worked a Rhea County game this year. It doesn't matter which game it was though. For everybody that is having bad comments about Coach Fitzgerald and this year's team, I was pleasanty surprised with the way the game went. 20 yrs ago, i thought the only thing that mattered was winning. In the time I've been out of high school I have coached and now I have the pleasure of working with one of the best football referees in the state. There are definitely things much more important than simply wins and losses. When we had Rhea County's game, there was no doubt when we left that Coach Fitzgerald had the team that showed the best sportsmanship we have seen in many yrs. The players helped always held their hand out to help an opposing player off the ground. The sportsmanship then was seen on both teams. No profanity at all by anybody on the field!!! Winning will come with time, but it appears he is coaching players that he hopes one day will become fine men. When we left our game, we made sure that Coach Fitzgerald knew how the officiating crew felt about his players and although they didn't win he should still be proud of them. Nice job coach!
