Copper Basin @ Lookout Valley

I guess the info about the DBCS kid means he won't be playing this week against Temple. I hope he is not a senior.

In this game though, good luck to both programs. Like everyone else, I think that Lookout Valley too strong in this one.

No, just a Junior, but not any easier for a kid to swallow. He created his own problem with his poor choice of words. It's just hard to accept that the penalty is the same for a more flagrant situation (fight, or slinging of a fist) with say 30 seconds left in a game in the 4th quarter as compared to a poor choice of a word 3 minutes into a game in the 1st quarter. The latter creates a situation where a player misses 7 1/2 quarters vs 4 quarters for an incident, especially hard to swallow with only 1 game left.

I hate to hear that DB had problems with CB. We didn't have any when we played.

I wish the JV game would have worked out, Travis was really upset to miss a chance to play against his old bud. I guess they will get a few more chances before HS is over. Which teams did LV's JV play?

BTW LV wins by 40+

It wasn't all Copper Basin. It was the refs handling of the situations. They were probably all too scared when they played you guys!

Maybe because we had the young kids in so early it didn't have time to get heated either. Plus the refs in the Chattanooga region are the worst. We played at CB so the officials did a good job.

Ever heard of the TSSAA allowing any concessions on a rule? Specifically, some allowance since it's the last game and the kid will miss 7 1/2 qtrs, for a non flagarant violation?

To Whom It May Concern(You all know who you are),

It has come to my attention that a select group of people in the Valley were offended and angry by an earlier post I made in the LV vs Silverdale thread. I did not realize this till the other day and determined some of the things I said were wrong. it was out of line for me to call out individual football players. After all, these are just high school kids, and sometimes you get carried away, caught in the moment, and dont realize when what you're saying. For that, I apologize. It wont happen again.

However, it is great that we can live in a free country, one where we have the right to speak our minds freely without hesitation. I was giving an OPINION on what I thought the team did well, and what the team did bad. Granted I did point out individuals and it wont happen again. But that was my OPINION. If I thought the passing game was poor, Iit is my right to say it was poor. If I thought the team didnt look fired up at kickoff, it is my right to form an OPINION on it. As is your right to have the OPINION that I am in the wrong. i respect that. One man can have an OPINION completely different than mine. I was not trying to bash or discredit the victory in any way. Just stating my OPINIONS on the game, from what I observed.

They key to being a good speaker, debater, or flat out communicator, is to be able to form an OPINION. Not just to form an OPINION, but to also be able to back one up, and not stray from what you think. I will not apologize for saying the team didnt look like they wanted to win at kickoff. You know why? Its my OPINION, and its what i observed. Im sure someone else observed something completely different. I wont back down from that, and what I thought went wrong. That goes for the other things I said too. I f I am going to turn into any fraction of a good journalist when I graduate college, I MUST be able to form an OPINION, and defend that OPINION. Please, dont get so offended if some guy whos never played a down of organized football in his life gets on a message board and says him team didnt look fired up. Thats all Im gonna say about that....

Now onto the game /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

The coach can appeal it but just but it doesn't sound like their would be much of a reason to overturn it unless their is evidence (film?) showing mitigating factors. It being the last game should have no bearing on the outcome

It is always ashame when young lads make poor choices, but that is part of growing up and maturing. Poor choices can sometimes turn into lessons learned. If the young lads in question learn from the mistake then it will all work out for them.

And I believe they will. It wasnt our best game, and i said that in plenty of words.

I wonder how much the coaching staff will open the play book this week?

I really hope the playbook has been open for a while by now... At this point in the season you shouldn't be putting in a whole lot of new things or trying new things. Should have already tried things and had things put in. This should be a game to rest the starters up for next week. Don't see a whole lot of positive work to be had if they (copper basin) are as bad as I think.

Nothing wrong with a few new wrinkles for the region 4 crowd. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" />

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
