Oh but grasshopper, the future is where it is! I've heard tales of this team and they are a powerhouse in the making! They are rumored to have a great team spirit and good fan support. That's 2 keys right there. Not to mention all the talent they are showing. Secret weapon there!

Let's just hope we can keep them together. New school in 2 years shouldn't hurt this bunch, since they are"grandfathered" to stay in the school they started regardless of zone.

GO OWLS!

I do not see an upset here. The 17-7 loss to a struggling OR team has me concerned. But, it is playoff time and the Region 2 four seed has had success in the past. Bearden 21 Ooltewah 14

ETCoach, I hope you are wrong. Ooltewah has also been struggling this year, but the talent is there, we just don't always utilize it. From what I've been able to gather about Bearden, they are a very good team. If the OWLS execute, they will win this game by a touchdown. If they show up just to look pretty in their uniforms it will be a long drive back to Hooterville. From the players I have had contact with so far this week, they are pumped up and ready to go, and I have to say its the underclassmen more so than they seniors. The seniors have got to dig deep to be the leaders this week, if they want to have subsequent weeks in the playoffs.

Go OWLS!

Bearden is stronger of the two teams. It will take the best game of year for owls to win this one

Bearden 28

Owls 14

I guess we'll see Friday night. Our speed is our strongpoint. The Owls are ready for the "best game of the year" We are capable of anything we set our minds to. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

Okay, my "better half" says that Bearden is too far to go for a football game and doesn't want to go. Is that grounds for divorce /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Just kidding, too much invested at this point.

Can't wait to see the owls in action Friday night. I'm looking forward to a well played game, running on all cylinders. Let's get through round 1, and roll from there. To my knowledge all are healthy and fired up in the owls camp. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

I hope they are ready to play, are o line is banged up on the right side, rob matthews has bad ankles and matthew kranz has a bad knee and is a game time decision. This could hurt our running game drastically

If that's the case then I guess we have to make do with who's available. This is the time for everyone to step up and give 110%. I'm not saying play hurt, I'm saying that if it means a second string player has to start, then so be it. Step up to the job at hand and take care of it.

GO OWLS! Bring your best game and attitudes to the field. If you lose, lose with dignity and honor knowing you gave it all. If you win, win with pride and be humble.

just to give more info for the ooltewah fans about bearden: offensively they run out of the shotgun with #9 halliday at QB (kid is a great competitor). beside him is works #19(tough runner) and pemberton #44 (big blocking FB who doubles at LB). they mostly run with 3 WR and #85 eicholtz is the burner that can stretch the field. the other two are mostly possession guys. defensively they run a base 4-4 with pemberton leading the way. they are extremely good at playing their assignments and eliminating the BIG play. #85 is the FS with two big CBs in #1 gunn and #21 cunningham (6'2 188 and 6'2 208 respectively). #21 sometimes gets in on offense at RB. this team is a senior-laden squad and most have started since they were sophomores. i would write something about the owls' team for the bearden fans but it doesnt seem like there are any on here. oh well it should be a good game this friday! /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />

well ooltewah will run out the I and the shotgun for the most part. they sometimes run with one back, TE, and 3 WR. marshall #5 is always the fastest guy on the field. the QB #17 brady reed has decent size and good arm but is young. that is apparent in some of the decisions he makes. the WRs #6, #10, #14 are reliable in the passing game. they like to hit #6 norwood down the field. defensively the run 4-3 alignment and run stunts and twists with their front 7. coach gatewood does a good job of mixing up where the pressure is going to come from. #36 at DE is a MAN even though he's only a soph. i havent seen the owls in a couple of weeks but if caldwell #24 is back at LB, it only makes them tougher because he is a great player. #6 plays CB and #10 is a scrappy safety. # 8 and #20 fill the other two secondary spots. the owls kicker is strong-legged sophomore who is consistent from 40 yards and in. i forgot to mention bearden's special teams in the last post but their kicker/punter #43 reagan is good. his brother matt reagan is the kicker at memphis now. hope that helps
