Justin Blake...usually this award does normally go to the player on either the 1st place team in district or the second place team and usually being on a team such as Dyer Co. would help your case for winning this award..Last year was the craziest stuff for 13AA MVP..Not knocking on Quinn Hunt but I hate to say he was not the best player in the district..McLin is and was better than him...If Blake would've played all year he would've been well worthy of it last year

Called politics fellows, one coach thinking if i vote for someone else then my kid will win, and then all of the sudden they all have the same idea and end up voting for the same # 3 or 4 best player and he ends up winning it. Unless it was because a coach didn't understand the ballot and voted upside down, which has happened before

Blake(Dyer Co.) and McLin(D'burg) always will make their teams better.. I think someone who gets overlooked though

is Crittendon of Dyer Co.-- He's really the engine that makes the Choctaws go- Also made the clutch basket in the sectional to put DC in the state tourney last season.. he's the heart of that team.. Other's that could step up are the Hudson kid from Gibson Co. and Gilliam down at Obion Central. Each will be a key in their team's success this season.

I agree with you on this.

So we know Dyer County will proabaly run the table in this district. Is there any team in 13AA that might pull up an upset?

Gibson Co. could take one one their home floor if they keep turnovers at a minimum.. Obion Cental could be a

suprise if they are hitting 3's.. Played Dyer Co. almost down to the wire when the two teams met at Troy late last season about a week or so before the tournaments.. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

The MVP should be Blake. They are the team to beat and he is the best player in 13AA right now before the season starts. I think its time for Gibson Co. to make some noise this year in 13AA boys basketball. They have a lot of returning players that got a lot of playing tme last year. I'm looking for them to have a great year this year.

Yes sir, I must agree...I think we'll split with Dburg during the season but come playoff time we'll beat them just like last year...are you going to the GC playday Saturday??

Who does GC play?

I know this district has not been strong but it is always fun to watch because of the close games. If anyone knows alot about the teams, please post some info so i can see what the season brings

At Gibson Co.'s playday Saturday I'm not sure who will all be there but I'm pretty sure Obion Co. Crockett Co. and Covington will be there...I'm not sure if there's more teams coming or not..Gibson Co. returns several key players from last year only losing 2 starters and returning Hamilton Hudson, Ethan Ellis, and Nick Santaniello from last years starting 5...We have Antoine Cunningham this year but will be out awhile with his broken ankle due to football...We also have Trevino Davis and Josh Reeves returning from last years team...we also have great upcoming talent that will be awesome to watch!!!

  • 2 weeks later...

i dont believe DC will run the table in the district. everyone sees them running away with this, i disaree. i think having seen their pressure and gameplan a full season every other team will plan around it and give them a tougher road than they might think. Don't sleep on this district fellas,1-5 could go any way in 13-AA honestly. An your right redbirdfan, Obion Co. did give Dc a scare last year, in all honestly should have beat them, just couldn't come up with the clutch plays late it seemed to be. Honestly, it should be very competitive.

    • Wow I haven't been keeping up with softball had no idea.Been keeping up with baseball and we are slowly fading there.I will check it out!!Thx
    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
