Where is Joey Spann? Has he gotten in trouble again?

Heard he was out polishing his championship trophy.

Joey Spann was given a t at Middle Tennessee Christian school for rising from his seat in what was determined by an official 30 feet away to be an agressive manner. He was questioning a self pass from the point guard of MTCS to herself at half court. The official under the basket came out and gave him the T. He was not being agressive and did not deserve the T, he simply asked the official standing next to him how the girl could do this, although it propelled Ezell to erase a 20 point deficite with 8 minutes left and the eventual triple overtime loss, which by the way was also controlled by the officials, #10 had driven to the basket with under 5 seconds left and there was contact with a MTCS player. The officials blew the whistle and the official under the basket came out and signled a blocking foul on the MTCS player.( putting his hands to his hips, then pointing to the player in white laying on the floor) As the players lined up for #10 to shoot, the same official came from the scorers desk and stated the ball was "whites" after he changed this call I believe an additional T was called on ezell and thats how it ended.

Lipscomb has proven that they have a very good team, Harpeth Hall and Station Camp have been very impressive in the games I have seen them play. (HH vs. Ezell, Fra vs Station camp) Lipscomb beat them both and Ezell lost an 11 point lead with under 2 minutes to HH. Ezell is scoring lots of points but is also giving up a lot of points. Ezell's guards did not stop the guards from HH driving to the basket, they turned and alowed the girls to go to the hoop. Ezells guards will have to play square to the basket and box out the lipscomb shooters. Ezell will have to stay back off the guards and not let them drive to the basket and be willing to take a charge if they want to win. This will be a good match up, I do not think that lipscomb can guard #10 one on one, so this will mean a zone or a double team. Should be interesting.

For a young team Lipscombs wins have been impressive,

I like Ezell, this will be the first 5 player team that lipscomb has faced, against station camp and harpeth hall you had three players who could score, the first 6 for ezell can score so a double team will hurt lipscomb. Spann being out should not make much of a difference, he is a great coach, as his record shows, but the players are not young and they have all played for coach carter so there won't be a drop off.

If Ezell does not play defense and has a lot of unforced turnovers this will be lipscombs game,

should be fun for those that get to attend, what bragging rights are you talking about?

If ezells student body counts as 1.8 students and forces them to play AA, shouldn't lipscomb be playing AAA? since they were already in AA

This poster has noticed a lot of high scoring from one of Lipscombs players. She must be very good. If the team is young, is this player an underclassman and what position does she play?

Lipscomb has a playerwho is doing very well in scoring, making about 20 a game. since they are a young team, is this player an underclassman and is she a post?

Senior, point guard. Shoots the 3, drives to the basket and posts up some, as well. She scored 38 (a DL girl's basketball record) against Station Camp Friday night. However, she is by no means the only girl on the team that can score.

Ezell wins 49-44

I hate it when I'm right. This game started out like ezell was gonna run away from lipscomb. Ezell's #21 Davis and #10 McAlister both got 2 quick fouls 1st four minutes, the coach took them out and they sat until the start of the 3rd (12 minutes). Lipscomb was able to erase a 9 point lead and take a 6 point half time lead. Ezell came back and had a 5 point lead with about 1 minute left, after an ezell rebound that ended up out of bounds, Lipscombs guard Ross hit a three from the corner. Ezell missed the front end of a one-one, and lipscomb went down and tied the game. Ezells#10 missed a shot with 4 seconds left and the rebound was thrown out to a Lipscomb guard on a break-away, as the guard went for the layup, her shot was cleanly rejected by #21 Davis creating overtime. Ezell pulled away in overtime. This was a great game in a great atmosphere, these two teams will be seeing Marshall county in the region.

Thanks for a great game

If the shot at the end was "cleanly rejected" then I am Miss America. Since I have just looked in the mirror and discovered that is not the case......The game was very good, extremely physical and there were way too many fouls. An Ezell player was hit very hard in the arm on a no call. A Lipscomb player has a black eye on a no call. The lay up at the end of regulation put the Lipscomb girl on the floor on a no call. I agree with you on the good game part, but the officials have to take better control of these games.

    • The people need our help!
    • Lol when was last time they won region or got past the 3 rd round.
    • Gravedigger gotta finish filling the hole before hitting 40 East. May need a new Yellow Shirt play signaler on the Stones. And apparently a new strength coach now. Cicadas must've got shaken out of the bushes in Donelson. Hopefully the mower man sticks around to keep DG field looking pristine. Maybe new OC can call in a favor to his PGA friends that knows a thing or two about being green during the season. The heat is on soon. Bring in the 2 way freak Iceman and cool things off. He knows a thing or 2 about wildcats. Gotta take our talents South soon for Nationals. Don't step on my blue suede shoes.
