Best Alcoa Team of All-Time

I've been around Alcoa football since 1969 and it is hard to compare teams, but the 1989 team had 6 guys that received football scholarships. We had 50 boys in the senior class and 10 of them received athletic scholarships.

Im now a sophmore at alcoa highschool and i believe if this team makes 5 in a row then it will make the top of my list but until then i will have to go with the 89 team.

You're just too young my lad to understand how good some of Alcoa's opponents were in the past! The region wasn't as lopsided as it is now.

It can't be any fun for Alcoa fans to play some of the teams they play. Unfortunately those teams are region teams. Maryville plays some region teams I wish they could drop.

 

There are 2 teams Alcoa should play every year since William Blount and Heritage dropped them. Fulton and Austin East. Every Alcoa fan I talk to wants those teams on the schedule. I went to a few AE/Alcoa games and they were great. The athmosphere was great.

Has Alcoa considered moving up to 3A? That's not a wish to get them out of 2A, but with Catholic, Fulton and Austin-East they'd get plenty of competition, better gates on the average more than likely. I think CAK will be moving up too.
