Tri-County 7 (Week of 12-10)

Just thought id get this started on the boy's thread.

 

1.) Johnson Co.- Great defence plus smart shooting give them the number one spot this week. Them and Hampton could go either way at ths point.

 

2.) Hampton- This team is loaded with talent and we will see on tuesday if they are the number 1 team right now.

 

3.) Unicoi Co.- They also are loaded with talent but took a close lose to Hampton. Look for them to move to the top by the end of the season.

 

4.) Unaka- Thought about 5th after the North Greene lose but bounced back and beat Cosby so settling at 4 right now.

 

5.) Elizabethton/Cloudland tie- Two bad team until proved otherwise.

 

7.) Happy Valley- They have to be have they havent won a game yet.

Not a bad call, RangerCountry.... Hampton and Unaka looked pretty good over the weekend in the Climate Controllers Classic. Both teams are playing with alot of confidence. Hard to believe that North Greene had a chance with Unaka, but it was at North Greene, so who knows after Christmas. Good luck to both, and watch out for the Rangers and coach Snavely. Things are going in the right direction.

No they ain't going in the right direction. The Creek has been fading ever since they won the gold ball. They will get a few wins over inferior programs but they will NEVER win another regional title much less the gold ball. A sea of blue has taken over Carter Co. and it may be many years before Unaka could even compete again. Well at least the communtiy standard for when you get bored in Stoney Creek isn't getting drunk and beating the crap out of the paper lady like it is in Hampton

This is a basketball board not a community bashing board. So either get over, under, around it or get the heck off of here. There's no use in us doing this to one around especially when we live in the same county. I know for a fact that outside sports, most the kids from all five schools (Unaka, Hampton, Cloudland, Happy Valley, and Elizabthton) are friends and are embarrassed to see people get on here and do this nonsince.

Ranger Country if you are going to start a thread about a tri county seven atleast make it realistic.

 

1.Hampton- Overall the best all around team in the county. Very tough offensively and defensively. Bobby James and Justin Bentley are playing tough right now for the Bulldogs and when those two kids are playing well then the Bulldogs are very tough to play with. Big win over Unicoi last week so they are very deserving of the number 1 spot.

 

 

2.Unicoi County- Even with the loss to Hampton Unicoi County is still one of the toughest teams in upper East Tennessee and can match up with anybody in this area. They are very well coached and very deep off of the bench and play a strong strength of schedule which will only get them stronger for February and March when it counts.

 

 

 

3.Johnson County- Hasn't really had that break out game yet offensively but you can always count on them to play tough defensively and that is what makes them a good basketball team if the Offense can produce a little bit they will be a very tough team to stop come tournament time.

 

 

 

4. Cloudland- Your probably saying why the number 4 spot with a loss over Providence Academy and only one win so far this season? Cloudland took a good Chuckey Doak team down to the wire last night,there younger kids are getting better. Jordan Hughes and Brett Stocton are still probably two of the top 5 players in the conference and everyone knows that when it comes tournament time no matter what their record is Ned Smith knows how to win basketball games.

 

 

 

5. Unaka- Picked up two big wins over the break against Cosby and Harriman but it's like zaza90 said. Against tougher opponents they struggle.They have yet to prove themselves against a good basketball team and should be tested over the Christmas break.

 

 

6. Elizabethton- Very young minded team with a tough conference to compete in with very little talent to help. But the kids play hard and you cant knock them for that.

 

 

7.Happy Valley-Without a win right now and struggling very hard Happy Valley is still fighting strong and looking to get back on track but they are in the same boat Elizabethton is in very young minded basketball team and plays in a very strong conference.

Rangerhead it's nice of you to join us but lets not just shoot off out the mouth just yet on the name guessing games your 1-3 right now. There is a small part of me that says your from good ol stoney creek just a hunch though /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":rolleyes:" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" />

 

But if I am not mistaken that flash in the pan program has had their way with you guys over the past 2 years so I wouldnt speak so fast my friend. And if Cloudland is a flash in the pan program what would you call the loss to North Greene by 11 points or your big win by 2 over Providence Academy say for your program now these days? I also watched 2 years ago a flash in the pan 9 win Cloudland team make it down the road to murfreesboro while someone was at the house so correct me so far if I am wrong.

 

You can only rely on talent for so long I think Unaka's coaches and program has found it a little difficult now that they dont have the stud players to ride like they have had in the past and now they have to coach a little bit and the task seems to be a little more difficult unlike it has been in the past.

 

Now Unaka's staff has been faced with some diversity and not so talented of a team and they seem to still be struggling 3 years later while Ned Smith has had less talent than any team in the county but still finds a way to take that flash in the pan program Cloudland and get them to the state tournament?

 

It's like an old ball coach once told me "it's easy to build a perfectly good shed with the right tools but how good of shed can you build when your tools are taken away /huh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":huh:" border="0" alt="huh.gif" />
