It sure would have been nice to see a Shelbyville/South Greene game in the late 80s, early 90s but it never happened so we'll have this debate forever.

I looked back at the TSSAA past champs and from 87 -92 So.Greene did dominate AA girls basketball.Shelbyville dominated AAA ball. It wouldn't do either of us any good to debate over this for very long. I think Shelbyville would have clobbered So. Greene and you think the very oppisite. Since they played in different divisions we don't have any head to head games to talk about. It would have been a great match. We are defenitely talking about two of the greatest.

The best team that I can remember in Upper East Tennessee was the Hampton teams in the late 90's and early milennium. I am pretty sure that Ginny White, Miranda Greene, Amanda Greene, Cyndi Troutman, Rachel Clawson, Alice Peters, and Kari Stout all went on to play college ball from those teams. Troutman was also the best player that I have seen. At this time the Lady Dogs were still led by Doug Phillips who was a great coach. They were the best team that I have seen around Upper East Tennesee...

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
