kazam37
We can jetson this page or we can start with this weeks question on here.......but how does everyone see the Wartburg - Oneida game turning out this Friday night? I'm sure the Lady Indians want to compete with the team that has been a pleasant surprise for their fans up to this point. With the game up on the flat mountain, will the Lady Indians be able to shake and bake their Bulldog counterparts or will the the Lady Bulldogs make the Tepee their Doghouse! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> /blush.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="blush.gif" /> That was funny AND embarrassing! Anyone care to delve into this one? bulldogplayermom
I'll be able to tell you how it will go after tonight. Wartburg plays harriman and may be in for a little trouble. I've heard that Harriman has a new player and she's pretty good! Early prediction Wartburg 43 (If the Lady Dogs break out of their shooting slump) If not who knows. Oneida
kazam37
Last I heard Harriman had several pretty good players, so one more will make them that much tougher. Keeping the score close usually works against the Devils as they become a little undisciplined towards the end. They tend not to be too good with their late game management. /rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> But then, it's high school basketball, so there are few Summits, Knights, Pearls, or Roys running the show down here. Hope you all shoot it straight tonight and then miss the broad side of a barn on Friday. /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Well........it's true! Good luck and see ya Friday. Kazam
bigdave25
I think it was Custer that said it best,"Those Indians Look pretty friendly." /laugh.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="laugh.gif" /> We're gonna play em one at a time! goosevol
Harriman's new player is Shantel Boyd, sister of Shakira Boyd. She's been with the team all summer and fall, but didn't become eligible till this semester.
kazam37
And............Goose? Where does Ms. Boyd fit into the scheme of things for the Blue Devils. Post? Wing? Fast? First off the bench? Will they be better with her? I've seen players added to teams before that actually disrupted their chemistry for a while. I've even seen a player change the whole complextion of the team.....not always for the good. I don't have any opinion of Ms. Boyd and how she will fit, but since you've seen her in some capacity....what is your take on what she brings to the table? Dave.....writers cramp? We are looking for trouble.......seems Custer is stirring up plenty of dust at Fort Central! It is certainly going to take a strong effort by our Ladies to defeat the Yellow Haired One. On the bright side, front row seats (maybe)! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> After our last battle, all we have left is the Casinos! /roflol.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":roflol:" border="0" alt="roflol.gif" /> Kazam
goosevol
I won't see Boyd until Friday night, but I know she's not very big. However, she is very fast and athletic according to Coach Cordell. He says she's very good in the open floor. It didn't help them tonight though because Wartburg beat them pretty good. I told Coach Snow tonight that I think we're in for a great district tournament this year. It wouldn't surprise me if any of five teams win the thing. bigdave25
Kaz, Oneida is getting better every time they play as I figured they would. I think that between now and the end of the year you'll see the younger kids play better and better. They've done a very nice job rebuilding and remaining competitive at the same time. I'm not going to give a prediction on the game friday, but would love to hear what Kaz has to offer. By the way we are still not shooting the ball worth a lick! 6-32 in the second and third quarters against Harriman. kazam37
I agree with your assessment that they are improving......they are kinda coming to understand at least what roles they are playing on the team. I guess their biggest problem has been their lack of consistancy. They will play "lights out" one night and two days later you wonder if your watching the same team. Maybe with N. Lay back from her rehab, they will find themselves. They have some wins that let you know they can play with a lot of the good teams in the area, but I sure could use a quality district win. (who couldn't) I don't know what you will see Friday, but if they are "on", you'll know it. Kazzy
bigdave25
Is N. Lay back now? Did she end up having the surgery after all?
kazam37
/rolleyes.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid="" border="0" alt="rolleyes.gif" /> She did the surgery and she is, if I'm guessing, chomping on the bit to be ready for Friday. I really wouldn't put her at 100% yet, but she looked like she is rounding into form. Think the girls will go though another six for thirty two evening. We have been working overtime trying to get the lid on the rim. (now if we can just figure out how to change it at half time! /dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" ) I bet our little artic blast is a mere puff. Haven't been able to get around the Al Gore Thing for some time. (global warming?) Kaz
bigdog
This has nothing to do with the Wartburg vs Oz game other than I've got a question about the Christopher girl. I saw her play against Kingston and just about every time she shot the ball, she fell to the floor. Does she do this all the time? Did she do it against Wartburg? I mean, there were times when no one was even close to touching her and she would shoot and then fall to the ground. Is this her attempt at trying to draw a foul? If it is, she should definitely quit!! I dont think they called a foul anytime because she fell to the floor. Does anyone think college scouts like this kind of play? Oz fans, dont get me wrong, I think she is a tremendous player. I've even debated with friends about her ability when they dont think she is good enough to possibly play DI, I've always said I thought by the time she graduates, she would be looked at by several DI schools. I've never seen her do it in previoius seasons so I just dont understand why now. Christopher has way too much talent to be using mickey mouse tactics to try and draw a foul. She should play like she's capable and quit with the little league games.
