Hi folks, Rumor in T-Town is that Devin Delaughter will moving back home to help Coach John Olive at THS. Last week Delaughter resigned from the Spring Hill Head Football Coaching job that he had just taken only a few days earlier. Delaughter probably will be the "O" cordinator. Things are looking up in T-Town.

Tell us a little about him. Previous jobs, records, type of offense he likes to run and why he committed to Spring Hill and then changed his mind.

As of right now this will not happen. Him and his wife are both math teachers. Dan Lawson, Director of Tullahoma Schools, said there aren't positions for both of them. But perhaps his wife could get a job at a nearby school system..Moore County or Franklin Count. That is as of right now. That could change.

Devin Delaughter is a good man and good coach and Tullahoma would be better to get him. I hope it happens. I called games on the radio when he played at Tullahoma and called some TV games when he played college ball at Sewanee and he worked so hard and played with some injuries but was always a student of the game.

/dry.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=" That's interesting?

Spring Hill heard he was a good man too. DeLaughter even said the Tullahoma coach was the one who told him he should apply for the Spring Hill job.

1. He did.

2. Was offered the job.

3. Accepted the job.

4. Addressed the community at a basketball game.

5. Had a 45 minute private meeting with the players.

6. Week later resigned.

He also stood up lunch with the Booster Club President without even calling and stood up a local realtor without even calling.

??? Alot of Questions about this guy from the Spring Hill area.

WOW!!!! Not a good way to build a reputation. Anybody know what happened. I was just curious because we need an OC in Warren Co. but not someone like this if it's true.

Everything is fact.

Heard he just decided that there wasn't enough money there.

Apparently McCallie pays for his housing and pays more than what SH could.

He knew all that before accepting.

Maybe Warren Co. has more $'s than Maury

Hi Folks, Looks like Tullahoma and Spring Hill was a little short this time. McCallie sweetened the deal for Devin. It must have been too good to turn down. Well there is always next time. Can't say I blame him.

Publics will never compete in pay when a private wants to "sweeten" the deal. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

    • That was after the 2nd year of a 4 year cycle.  Since Covid we have been on a 2 year cycle.  So, there really isn't a "mid cycle" reclassification this time.   Idk if there's anything in place to address the issue of a school closing.  My guess is, nothing can be done.  This would be akin to the 1st year of a 4 year cycle, where a school has the 20% +/- but not allowed or even have the option to move up or down.
    • No reasonable lawyer would take up this case. I am not a lawyer, but I know school law in and out.  Similar situations just like this play out thousands of times each year across the country, even at the college level (i.e. Ole Miss)  The Plaintiff's never win...ever.  If I am wrong, please provide a legal precedent for me. I will be waiting.  https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/39431892/judge-drops-ole-miss-player-lawsuit-lane-kiffin
    • Yes Justin Cruse was named head coach
    • It used to be, I think it still is, a change of 20% +/- gives reason to reclassify. Schools can choose to play up classifications but not down. Here is the mid cycle reclassification info on TSSAA.org When Memphis East changed from a regular public school to an "all-optional" school in 2017 the would've dropped to A but chose to stay in AAA in basketball (baseball, and softball) Penny was still coaching there and with the players they had they would've beaten A teams by 40 and slept walked to the championship. Other Memphis schools stayed in their classifications (mostly in basketball) until the next reclassification cycle. Of course this is the same time that a 4th class was added basketball.
