Maryville wins huge at Powell to avenge last year's region final loss.

Got to watch Bearden dominate Clinton tonight. The Bulldawgs are awfully good.

Oak Ridge wins by 10 over Lenoir City. Thought it would be more.

Farragut gets by Karns to get another chance at Bearden.

Farragut/Bearden for the 4th time. Oak Ridge/Maryville for the second time.

Bearden by 12

Maryville by 9

Are your guys in Region 2 having to deal with Region 1 refs? If so, I sure hate that for you and your teams, especially the refs from District 1. Their all clowns... you can tell their clowns by the big floppy red shoes they wear and some of them have flowers on their lappel that squirt water... both are dead give aways. Good luck with all that.

I've been saying for a long time that Oak Ridge would win the Region. I don't think that Maryville's guards will be able to deal with Oak Ridge's athleticism. Stephens will frustrate Damron, so will Rodgers. I think Oak Ridge wins by 10. Too athletic for the Rebels.

That is a very good point. The Rebels certainly have the advantage on the inside, however that has the potential be somewhat nullified by Oak Ridge's full court press. O.R.'s press is brutal to face with Dowdell guarding the inbound and the speed and quickness of Stephens and Rogers, ask Karns about it. If Maryville can't get it up the floor, they can't score inside. One thing to watch for is the roster changes on both sides since the first time they met. Everyone knows that Douglas didn't play but also, O.R. lost Ralphael Coffey and gained Tre Smith who made the all-district tournament team. Maryville loses home-court advantage this time around. Should be a great one to watch, it is a shame that one of these two top 5 teams has to go home.

Maryville and Oak Ridge is too tough to call. Stephens can shut down Damron as seen earlier, but can Oak Ridge handle the inside play of Maryville? I say 5 point game, not picking a winner. As for Bearden and Farragut I don't know that one either. Farragut had Bearden on the ropes in the district tournament which should help a lot in the confidence department. I'm not going to pick a winner in this one either, but I'm going to say a single digit game.

On another note, I hope the officials for these two games are from out of the area. It's always nice to have a crew that hasn't seen of these players play this year and they can call the game unbiasedly.

Spoke to some of the officials tonight at 2AA girls games, and they said that they(Tri-cities) would be at Bearden for the semi's on Tuesday....

On another note, if there's any team around that can handle full court pressure it's Maryville. Damron, Lambert, and Click have seen it before, and it always helps to have a 6/6 athlete and a 6/9 post to release pressure on the guards...... Tough one to call, but the Rebs by 3

Well that's good to know about the officials. This is a great night to see some good basketball, it's just a shame that 2 of these teams have to be finished tonight.

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
