if the past is "just that" then let it die. but you really dont believe that do you? since you started a new thread on the topic it obviously is a burr under your saddle. everyone should go watch the video and see what it looks like to end your high school career early because you cant keep your mouth and emotions in check. the clip that you posted is just the ending of a show of poor sportsmanship. you dont show the entire first qtr with 10 and 12 crying and mouthing at the refs about every call. 12 got warned two more times before the end of the game and should have gotten a tech when he intentionally threw the ball away from the ref in protest to a foul called late in the game. the ref could have t'ed him but instead talked to him before howard shot the free throws. oh yeah, this was his second warning. ive seen lots of basketball but i dont know that ive ever seen a team cry, whine and showboat as much as hixson. they didnt act that way when eller was on the sidelines. i guess with all the stuff making the news out of hixson these days you cant expect too much from the team. good thing the news people dont know about all the issues the basketball team had to deal with in the past month, huh? concession stand incident, 32's legal troubles, and the list goes on.

 

Hixson sure has gone though a lot of adversity this year. Those boys really pulled toghether and started having fun and won thirteen games in a row, even gave Howard their first loss at Howard. They started to feel good about themselves and having a good time and I guess some haters see that as cocky. I could put the whole first half of the game on here and totally make you look foolish trying to say it had gone on all game. That was his first foul and he didint have any reaction got a foul 5 seconds later and made a motion which is right there for all to see. If a player was ejected for what he did every time there would be no basketball. Anyway I have gotten the hint that no one really cares anymore and I cant blame them. The video didnt work and now it is so I started a new thread on it because some wanted to see it still and this was a good resource to use. Yes I am there father I guess you can tell I am not hiding that with my screen name. I know my boys and they did not deserve this. It has made them stronger and really inspired them so in a way it is a blessing in disguise and now they know early that not everyone is treated equal and life is not fair but you just deal with it and move on which is what I am going to try and do. It is hard for me as a parent that watched them their whole lives practice for the one year when they started varsilty together and everything went form a dream season to this. I know my boys and this reputation that you say they have is bold face lie. If you watch the clip you will see his brother tell him before the first foul that the ref was staring at him funny and he replied but I didnt do anything to his brother and got the first tech. Now would be a great time for a warning that if he gets another tech he would be out for Region and a game next year .He would have just stood there emotionless like a zomby but instead he made a gesture with his hand and said what did I do and got ejected. In the refs report he said he didnt know what he said but that he had said something. But of course they deserve that right. Well this is a waste of time, you obviously have a biased opinion as do I. I put this on here to get some unbiased opinions. Im thinking your either a ref, have no kids or no heart.

HERES AN UNBIASED OPINION. tHE KID GOT THE FIRST FOR HIS HAND GESTURE AND HE GOT THE SECOND FOR HIS HAND GESTURE. yES THE SECOND ONE WAS QUICK BUT HE SHOULD HAVE LEARNED FROM THE FIRST ONE. i TOO AS A FATHER WOULD NOT PUT UP WITH MY CHILDREN ACTING LIKE THAT DURING A GAME. WHEN THEY CAME HOME THEY GOT A BUTT CHEWING FROM ME FOR ACTING THAT WAY. BUT IN TODAYS WORLD EVERYONES KIDS NEVER DO NOTHING WRONG IT IS ALWAYS SOMEELSES FAULT THAT IT HAPPENED. BE A MAN A STAND UP AND SAY MY CHILD WAS WRONG AND SHOULD NOT ACT THAT WAY. IT,LL NEVER HAPPEN.

as a player and outside source who has no clue who these people are... i say that response is a little harsh ILLINI its good to play with emotion and also hard not to instinctively react to a call.. if the hand motion was to his brother and he was curious on the call then i think a technical foul is ridiculous that ref must have had a rough weeki also feel sorry for your kids Illini if you have any

From what I saw on the video he got 2 quick fouls in less than 10 seconds. After the 2nd he had a hand gesture. The ref waited to give him the first tech, while he was reporting this, the other ref was waiting in the wings to give him the second. I hope this wasn't in the District or Region and could have been this kids last game. I have seen 10 times worse than this in East Tn and nothing was called. I have also seen much less and technicals were called. I think the officials think the fans come to see the striped shirts along with the 10 players on the floor. I have noticed that this has gotten extremely worse in the past 10 years. In my opinion, they have a job with no supervision and do not answer to anyone. Perhaps they should be evaluated by the coaches at the end of the season. I totally agree with "dad" the referees are out of control and abusing their power.

 

I know I probably will get blasted from this post, and it will probably be from ref's that read this message board.

It's not harsh it reality. The kids play the refs ref its that simple if you don't like the call stink it up and move on.

 

Yes I have four daughters /wub.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":wub:" border="0" alt="wub.gif" /> and they all played basketball at the high school level and one played college ball for four years. They all got tee'd up a few times, but like I told them after the game you deserved it with your actions. they finally learned and quit thinking everyone else is wrong. and may I say they are wonder adults now. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />
