Northview Cougars HS, Alabama W 11-3

 

I don't know anything about these teams, but if I find anything out I will post it.

Farragut won their third (semi-final) game 11-0 against Charlotte (NC) Christian on Wednesday.

 

BGA is also in the tournament.. their results:

 

Won 20-9 in 5 vs. Battlefield (VA)

 

Won 10-0 in 5 vs. Rock Canyon (CO)

 

Won 17-9 vs. Springdae (AK) Har-Ber

BGA do you know anything about the teams, other than BGA and Farragut, involved in the tourney? Like are they supposed to be good or are they just a random group of teams that wanted to have an excuse to go to Florida.

Farragut Wins 6-5 with a run in the 7th inning.

I don't know much about the other teams in the tournament. I know the tournament itself has been considered one of the better ones in the east, though. Goodpasture was also in the field and they came in 5th while going 3-1 but they played neither Farragut or BGA

Farragut goes 4-0 and wins the tournament. Individual awards are as followed (from Farragut):

 

Matt Ramsey: All-Tournament Team

Curt Powell: All-Tournament Team

 

Phillip Phieffer (Fr.): Cy Young Award; Went 2-0 in tournament.

 

Michael Williams: Tournament MVP.

 

All around great tournament for Farragut. They continue to mash at the plate and the pitching keeps getting better with each game. Hats off to BGA. They are a great team with several college players I would imagine. If they don't win state in their division I would be extremely surprised.

I had heard that 2 of the teams that Farragut beat were ranked in the top ten in the country by USA Today. Any truth to this? It says a lot for the state of Tennessee and the quality of baseball that is here for this tourney to have the 2 finalist both from Tennessee. Congrats to both teams!

He's doing well. He came in and closed in the semi-final, threw about 25 pitches, and said he felt good.
